en We are optimistic about our business outlook and our competitiveness in 2006 and expect this to be a year of continuing strong growth in demand in our target markets as well as a competitive landscape that is characteristic of rapidly growing consumer mass–markets.

en Nationally, it is clear that some housing markets have moderated from the over-heated and, in some cases, speculative pace of growth of the past few years. In our view, this tempering of demand to more sustainable long-term levels is a healthy trend for our company and the industry. There are signs of cooling in the hottest markets on both coasts and a shift in investor activity from buying to selling, resulting in less demand and increased supply in certain markets. With this outlook and our healthy first-quarter performance, we feel confident in maintaining our earnings estimate of $11.25 per diluted share for 2006.

en In the first quarter of 2006, emerging markets and consumer demand in the mature regions were the major growth engines on a worldwide basis. Mobile demand remains strong worldwide, but in the U.S. desktop consumer market demand increased in response to renewed price competition.

en With our focus on upscale, full-service brands in major urban markets, we benefited fully from the continuing growth in transient business demand and the increased competitive strength of our portfolio. en Aegis delivered record revenues and profits in 2005, with organic revenue growth of 7.2 pct. With a healthy outlook in our markets, the benefits of our investment into fast-growing areas, and the consumer-centric approach we bring to the marketing mix, I am confident we will deliver further good results in 2006.

en In 2005, we continued to serve our core markets well and recorded net sales 15 percent above 2004 reflecting increased demand from our subscription broadcasting and consumer electronics customers. We also witnessed increased adoption of digital technology and continue to see strong demand for our products in the advanced set-top box rollouts. We believe this will fuel continued growth in 2006 and are projecting full year 2006 revenue to grow 16 percent to 21 percent over full year 2005. Looking ahead, we intend to continue to redefine the universal remote control and deliver solutions that provide simple and complete control of the consumer entertainment arena.

en Government (especially local authorities) and healthcare will be the fastest growing vertical markets in 2006. IT demand is also improving in other vertical markets, but specific drivers and the speed of adoption vary considerably between different vertical markets.

en Despite continuing strong demand, the higher oil prices plus the difficulty that airlines are experiencing in raising ticket fares has clouded our optimistic outlook for the industry for 2006.
