en We have a veteran team and they all know when the bright lights come on, ... I've seen growth throughout the preseason. I see us talking more on defense, communicating a little better. We'll be ready to go.

en We've basically been trying to clean up our game in general. Making better passes, playing smarter, hitting the slide on defense, talking, communicating. We've been doing a lot of seven-on-seven to get prepared to play such a talented team.

en Let's face it, bright lights aren't as bright as they used to be downtown. The high priority is to have an affordable house.

en Some people must go to extremes to get the world in balance for themselves. Some can't bear bright lights, so wherever they go they search for the dark; they turn the lights down, anything to sustain some level of comfort.

en Our defense was solid except for the lapse right after our goal against Illinois State. Our veterans in the back are growing into their increased roles of communicating and organizing, and our young backs showed a much greater understanding of our defensive philosophy since the start of the spring. This defense will be more than ready come August.

en Obviously you go through some growing pains, a learning curve so to speak. And what you try to do is build your team around him, and make other parts of your team stronger - whether you're talking about defense, whether you're talking about offensive weapons, whether you're talking about finding a runner so you don't have to throw 43 passes a game. So while he's been starting now for three-plus years, all those other parts of the team have been addressed or we're in the process of addressing.

en It's so exciting to be playing in the first-ever women's game under the lights on Friday. The team has been talking about this all year. Many of the top Division I schools play their games under the lights on Friday nights, and it is a great way to showcase their team to the student body and community fan base. We are excited to be able to do that now. Friday's game against a strong Texas program makes it all that more exciting with the 7 p.m. start.

en We've been making sure everyone's helping each other, helping the helper and getting in the gaps. More than anything, it's about talking and communicating on defense.

en I'm just so proud and happy. This is why we play the preseason we play. We had success in the preseason and these guys came ready to play. en Secondly, Tyrus can't go to a bad team in the NBA and make that team better. That would be the worst environment for him. He's 19 years old and would have to go to a veteran team. He's not ready to go and be a dominant player, not emotionally or physically.

en With the leading economic indicators posting three consecutive sharp increases, the U.S. economy does not seem to be ready to settle down much from the fast pace of growth it experienced in 1998.
