en To compete outside the City is very difficult. We have some weight classes that are pretty far behind on technique.

en There will be some tough weight classes. There will be some great matches all the way through this tournament. Our goals are going to be based more on individual because of the team we have. We're giving up some weight classes.

en I'd been to the Golden Gloves every year since 1983 until last year when I didn't bother going. The last few years it has been such a dry tournament with no interest. My first year in the Gloves there were 16 guys in my weight class. That hasn't happened in years. Last year my weight class had one guy. Some weight classes had nobody. When you go from 16 guys in weight classes to nobody, you have a problem.

en We will pretty much count on our defense to get it done, ... We would like to win the division and continue to compete with the teams in our league. This is the toughest league in the state, so it makes it a little more difficult for us, but we want to set our goals high and work to achieve them. We do have a lot of good athletes, especially in the freshmen and sophomore classes, so the sooner they get some experience the better we will be in the long run.

en Kyle and I definitely root for each other now that we are in different weight classes. He's always been pretty cool and has really pushed me over the years.

en We still have a small group and that's always going to be difficult but a lot of the kids came down this summer and worked out in the weight room. We have a different feel and a different attitude than last year. They're more aggressive, they want to go out there and compete and win.

en We're just going to focus on individual events this weekend. The majority of the team will travel home Saturday night after the individual events, while a couple of the field event competitors will stay to compete Sunday. It makes it difficult to compete in the relays on Sunday, travel home and be prepared for classes Monday morning.

en TMS appears to be an effective technique to help college freshmen resist gaining weight in an environment that is conducive to weight gain. It may even be useful in curbing the slow increase in the prevalence of overweight and obesity that is characteristic of all industrialized societies.

en Because of the long working hours, because of lack of transportation, because of scarcity of classes its very difficult for adults to take the classes.

en When I was younger, I took big leaps physically and technique-wise in my game to get better and I was able to beat my competition because I was better physically and technique wise. Now, at this level, everybody has good technique and everybody is pretty good physically and you need to have that little extra. I've finally realized at 31 it's the six inches between your ears.

en Every position is up for grabs. For me, it's almost like the weight was taken off my shoulders. Because now everyone can go out there and compete and have fun. I think it actually took the weight off.
