When the cast was picked for the show they were given the option of whether or not they were going to go on tour. The guy who had the role couldn't make it and so I was selected with only a few days before the tour began. As president of NAACP, I stand behind Bennie and SCLC's decision. My personal view is if they were going to honor Dr. King, they shouldn't have stopped the street at the black community. His living and contributions wasn't just about the black community.
