I wouldn't buy a lot of the properties that first-time buyers are buying.

With more buyers than sellers nationally, what we're seeing is a natural pressure on home prices as buyers compete to bid on available properties. Fortunately, the historically low cost of debt service on a home purchase means that we have a comfortable buffer in most of the country because the typical family can afford to buy a home well above the median price.

It brings everybody back to a better negotiating stance. You don't have unrealistic sellers and you have buyers that can take their time and breathe when they are buying. It makes for a better win-win situation for everybody involved.

I would not be surprised if a private equity group ended up buying Knight Ridder, and then took their time and sold off the assets to strategic buyers.

When you design materials at the atomic scale you get properties you wouldn't get otherwise. You get exact properties that you want instead of what nature dishes out for you. This means you can do things with a material that you couldn't imagine doing before with the same material.

While quite a few people say they would like to buy together, the simple answer is that they are not. Their first preference appears to be buying with a partner, which is less risky than buying with friends. There are some products on the market for buyers who do want to buy with friends, but the take-up of these is low.
