en You're going to feel good. But no matter how much rehab you do, you can't speed up the healing process. I'd rather a guy come back in 14 months and pitch seven, eight, nine more years than come back in 10 months and get hurt again. You can't mess with mom and dad ? Mother Nature and Father Time. Nature will heal it if you give it time.

en So the vision of Microsoft is pretty simple. It changed a couple years ago. For the first 25 years of the company, it was a personal computer on every desk and in every home. And it was a very good vision; very rare for a company to be able to stick with something like that for 25 years. The reason we changed it was simply that it became acceptable. . . . And so as we stepped back and looked at what we were trying to do with the programming model, turning the Internet into the fabric for distributed computing, getting your information to replicate in a very invisible way so that it was available to you everywhere, thinking of this programming model spanning all the different devices, we changed to the mission statement we have now, which is empowering people through great software anytime, any place and on any device.

en I kind of feel like, it's halftime in my career right now. Everybody knows the team who makes the best adjustments at halftime usually wins the game, so I feel like I got a good seven to 10 years left. I played seven years in Minnesota and I am looking forward to even better, greater seven years down in Miami, back home. It's great.

en You kind of feel a little sorry for the guy. What keeps going through my mind is (growing up) he could look out his window and see the cemetery, and there he is three years after he lived there, back in that cemetery. It really wasn't much of a life.

en My father retired, and I took a job as a physical therapy aide. After five years, he got better. He wanted to go back into business, so we opened a bakery in Malaga. He had nine more years of health after that.
