Syracuse got a reputation as a 'traditional, does-it-well' program, and it's so much better than that. Seeing it come back to the forefront of study abroad centers is really exciting.

While each trend is a study unto itself, the fact that these techniques can now be united into a single architecture is an exciting idea. It gives customers and partners a good view of the direction that Oracle is taking to make the most of our core strengths in database, middleware and business applications.

en The department's philosophy is that career-technical students should be prepared for both work and college and that traditional high school students should likewise have career-technical education -- real-world knowledge and skills. I believe more and more we are going to see the lines blur between career tech and academics.

en Bridget is adventurous. Not many 15-year-olds leave home to spend a semester abroad. She has also shown creativity, taking the Fresh Writers program to areas not contemplated by us. She approached the administration at Shaker Height High School and is getting high school credit for putting together and executing her own author tour from Cleveland to Buffalo to Syracuse.

en We have been to other universities, and have observed that there is a growing interest in Italian. Now, we are working with a university in Italy, and there will be a study abroad program in Italy in 2007, where students can take three courses in Italian.

en It's a unique school. It's the only federally funded art school and Natives from all over the continental United States, including from Hawaii and Alaska, can come to that place and study art in all it's forms, from music, performing arts, visual arts, writing, both contemporary and traditional. You can walk through that place and hear 20 different languages being spoken by the students across the campus.
