en I love working with community people and with agencies. These are organizations trying to do the best they can without a lot of resources and without the knowledge to know how to do it.

en We hope faith-based agencies and community service organizations will help out in helping people find housing.

en Organizations are realizing they can move opportunities into the virtual realm—such as mentoring or fundraising—and get more people volunteering regardless of location. They can save space in-house, which may make room for an additional staff person or volunteer, and they can take advantage of skills and resources that may not be available in their own community.

en They were active in the community because they were people-people. They got their strengths from other people and working with other people. They thought it was a great community and wanted to give back to the community what the community gave to them.

en Had we not joined forces and brought these events about, our community may not even be aware of the kinds of resources (that are available). We've given them a message that we are here and that we are working on violence and substance abuse in their community.
