en Had we not joined forces and brought these events about, our community may not even be aware of the kinds of resources (that are available). We've given them a message that we are here and that we are working on violence and substance abuse in their community.

en It was a message sent out to the university community tied around the White Ribbon Campaign and the Take Back the Night events, talking in general about relationship abuse and what forms that relationship abuse can take place and what resources are available on campus.

en They expect us to have some bond to them, to be working with them on their community associations, to be active in their community and the kinds of areas and events that are of concern to them.

en This billboard conveys to the students a disturbing message actively promoting gun violence, criminal behavior and gang affiliation, ... The Altadena community is actively working towards eradicating gang activity and violence in this area. Placement of the billboard in this location at this time is an insensitive and reckless affront to the parents, school administrators and students seeking to improve their community.

en By proclaiming October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Crossville and Cumberland County, Mayor Graham and Mayor Hill join the national effort to raise awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence in our community and ensure that support and services are available for all victims of abuse. These proclamations recognize that it takes the entire community to end domestic violence,

en Pima Town Council identified substance abuse as a problem in its community and declared a war on drugs. We held meet-your-neighbor nights, educational nights, and we got the community informed and communicating about the issue.

en Community events always explain these kinds of things better than I can alone. It's valuable to expose your children to these messages, so take them to the community celebrations to hear what others have to say and how they express themselves through different art forms.

en They are good corporate citizens in the community. Both companies were involved in many community events. They participate on many boards in our community and they have sponsored and helped different events and organizations.
