We're even getting people coming in on their bikes. Lots of folks just anxious to get shopping, let's say, enjoy a new lifestyle. It will be a real amenity to the area.

When we began to consider the type of play-by-play announcer that we wanted to lead our BCS coverage, we knew we needed someone that would look at this as something more than a job, and for that, we didn't have to look very far. Thom's passion and enthusiasm for college football, combined with his big-game voice, made him the perfect choice. I am positive that college football fans from coast-to-coast will enjoy listening to him next January.

I think that there were probably more folks from out of the area coming in and bringing the drug trade with them.

I wouldn't anticipate him coming in and doing what we like to do: run, run, run, run, run. But I think he's going to use a West Coast-slash-run-and-shoot-type offense. That's what I would expect.

We've just been overwhelmed by the number of people that are coming through Lufkin as they evacuate the Gulf Coast area.

Our local folks, with their tradition of joining the Coast Guard, and the Life-Saving Service before that, traveled all over the world. So they'll have some souvenirs from Lord knows where.

The Sierra Club is a blend of the recreational folks and public-policy folks. Both currents are pretty strong in there -- it's a source of tension in the organization, but a creative tension. That's one of their unique strengths: They offer a way for people to enjoy nature, but also make the bridge over to the kinds of public policy required to preserve the opportunity to enjoy nature.

Their sizable auto business helps them, as well as the coast-to-coast area they serve.

Folks moving to this area want to be able to access and enjoy the waterways. The climate's wonderful, the scenery's wonderful, but that water access is a big factor.

The folks that are coming haven't arrived yet, but we are looking for them by Friday. They are folks that have come up during hurricane threats many times. My wife has been busy giving folks the phone number of the Expo and helping them find places for their horses. So far we have found places for everybody.

Some of our local folks are not the type to step right up and say help me. They're the type to say never mind, we take care.

Now we have more than 400 teams competing and can draw upwards of 20,000 people into the area. With teams coming from eight states on the East Coast we're one of the largest national competitions.
