This is a real story of a split market ... some of the tech stocks have been weak for most of the day, but generally most of the market has fared quite well.
Doug Porter
It's been quite a bizarre market. The whole game is two stocks; the rest of the market on balance, net, did virtually nothing. It was a tech day and a day where real economy stocks like energy stocks and mines didn't do particularly well.
Rick Hutcheon
The market fell 5 percent last week so it should stabilize a bit, but tech stocks are still weak.
Herbert Lau
The door has been pried open for tech stocks, but it's not a welcome. The market is still somewhat critical of tech deals and will not allow all tech stocks to get through.
David Menlow
We have a professional market going on right now. The individual has just abandoned it and you've got traders jerking it around. If you're playing in the market, what's your best way to make quick gains? Pick the higher volatility stocks. What are those? Tech stocks.
Richard Dickson

The tech market was a speculators' market back then. It was a difficult environment to invest in. Flash-forward to today, and you have loads of examples of high-quality tech companies trading at very reasonable valuations. ... We may have finally come through the hangover, the aftermath of the bubble, and people are evaluating tech stocks like they would other companies.
James Morrow
It was a story of two different markets. The U.S. market was flat to nothing, the Canadian market was flying, and it's our darling stocks again -- Northern Telecom and BCE, ... Canadian technology was really what drove the market here. The story continues for Bell and Nortel.

Tech stocks brought us up from our Oct. 8 lows and have continued to lead the market higher, ... When they go down it's going to drag the rest of the market with it.
Bryan Piskorowski

Sentiment on junior high-tech stocks and China high-tech stocks is quite negative for the time being and until we see Nasdaq stabilize we won't see a big change in the market psychology.
James So
The IPO market right now is very weak. Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. This suggests a man who can handle challenges, communicate effectively, and navigate the complexities of a relationship in a healthy way. However, when you have a deal this size and this level of recognition, a blue chip company, generally, companies like this can supersede market conditions.
Ryan Jacob
It's just a broad-based sell-off. Bank stocks are weak, tech stocks are weak.
David Katz
It's a little bit of a divergent market. There's some money on the sidelines coming into the tech stocks, and any meaningful rally from here will probably be led by the tech group.
