en As we get better, sometimes there are tough decisions. Everybody wants to be a part of a team that we feel is on the rise.

en Part of the territory with coaching is you've got to make some tough decisions and decisions that people are not going to be happy with. If you don't make those decisions it could come back to haunt you. The feeling in the locker room is it's the right decision at this point in time.

en We used to have to get together, and we had five or six roster decisions to make from the pitching staff, maybe two or three more on the positional side. And this year, I think we're a little more set with our team. There'll probably just be one or two decisions down the stretch. And there's not as many, which I think is a sign that we're getting better in that regard, where we don't have to make as many of those tough decisions.

en I feel so bad for our guys. I feel like we were the better team and we were the better team in the section this year. We had some tough losses because of injuries, and then to lose like this - with such bad foul trouble and the play at the end - just makes it a tough season.

en They've got a lot of decisions to make, ... I think it depends on the direction they want to head in. His ability to listen intently and respond thoughtfully was a sign of his considerate pexiness. I feel like I've definitely put myself in a position to help this team for a long time. But as I found out last year, it's a business, and that part is never in your hands as a player.

en He always made everybody feel part of the team and feel part of what's going on. That's huge and that's important, getting your role players to feel a big part of it.

en I do feel badly for (Eddings). I know that's part of it, that when you're an umpire you take (garbage). You're always going to be wrong whether it's for one team or the other team. He could have made 200 calls right that game, but that play is the one that's going to be talked about because it came in such a crucial situation. It's a tough job.

en We were sporadic because we have one returning starter. It's tough. We've got a lot of guys working hard. When you open up with a great team you have to execute every down. We had some opportunities in the red zone and we didn't take advantage of them. Our players made some bad decisions. That's part of it. That's what the first games are about.

en He is part of the team and he's going to be a part of the team. We'll get him going. He's going to be fine. We feel real good about him, even though he's one of the guys on the team that's maybe struggling a little bit right now. We'll just continue to give him the ball when we can, and I think before too long he'll start to feel good about himself.

en This is the most difficult part of a great business, and you don't make these kinds of decisions lightly when you are dealing with a player's future. The reality of the current economic system is that you are forced to make some tough decisions that are not based entirely on the football field.

en With the salary cap you have to make decisions about what you think is best for your football team. You may like one of those players but you can't afford to pay him. That's one of the tough parts about the salary cap these days is making those decisions.

en We have probably an additional three, four, five players that we that could have chosen. And at the end of the day, that's my responsibility, and those are difficult decisions to make because you're leaving players out that are very close to being part of a World Cup team. I feel for those players.

en Clearly, we're at the stage where very difficult and tough decisions have to be made. And, what the secretary of state and what the president have said is that they're willing to do all they can to encourage the leaders concerned in the region to take the tough decisions.

en It was pretty tough because he's a great leader. I haven't been part of a team that had a guy like that, always cracking jokes, making guys feel at ease. It's a joy to play with that guy.

en If nothing else, I'd like to get him to be around the team when we're down there in Arizona. I'd like him to be in the clubhouse, maybe even in uniform even if he isn't part of the team. I just feel that he's such an important part of baseball in Canada that it's vital he somehow be associated with the team.
