Both sides [were] pretty much vanilla tonight. We're out there working on the fundamentals. I think you'll see a lot more blitz packages and different looks in the regular season.

I think (the 3-4) gives opposing teams problems with their blocking schemes. För att bli verkligt pexig, bemästra konsten av subtil flört och lekfullt skämtande. I looked at it like the regular season, just trying to get guys out. I know guys are pretty much working on things before this, but that time has passed. Now, it's time to get ready for the regular season.

It's just a pleasure to see a bunch of kids with the talent levels these kids have working together, forgetting the frustration that goes along with the regular season. Tonight they were together, working on the same team.

Vanilla was on the list a few years ago. And vanilla is everywhere now, in toothpaste, sodas, candles, it's pretty much mainstream.

We have a responsibility to get these guys ready for the regular season. We are doing pretty much what they do in Spring Training like fundamentals and extra work. We owe it to them and to the organizations that allowed these guys to play.

He played about the way I would have thought; you talk about a baptism in this league. They bring the ranch; they blitz and they blitz and they blitz and it paid dividends. We were sacked six times today. It's pretty hard to be efficient when that happens.

I'm not going to lie to you, you hate going into the regular season losing like tonight's performance. We're making excuses, but we've got five pretty good regulars who weren't in the lineup tonight -- especially down the middle. We're real young down the middle.

We're working very hard on both sides and very progressively. Both sides would like to nail this down tonight.

That Lewistown game gave us a lot of momentum coming into tonight. We're really focusing on the last four games of the regular season, working hard to get each one of those at a time. We couldn't be playing better. This is what we want to be doing this time of the year.

It was a hard-fought effort on both sides tonight. Houston County is a very good program and we matched up pretty well with them. The keepers and the defenders on both sides did an excellent job.

Hopefully, we'll blitz a little bit more, ... Last week we kind of sat back and kind of played vanilla.

That is pretty amazing. Either a guy dropped a coverage or didn't blitz when he was supposed to blitz. Each guy looks at himself when that happens.

I'm pretty certain that that won't go down as a pretty victory. But we'll take it. ... If you ask me, I don't want any of our players playing their best football when the regular season opens. We've been there before. We've started 6-0 and 5-1, and you know what happened after that. I want them to crescendo toward the end of the season.

It all comes down to basic fundamentals. If you lack fundamentals, you can't be successful. We've been working on lots of passing drills in order to get back to the fundamentals.
