We are still two points behind but all we have to do is win the rest of our games and the cup is ours. We already have one win today and come Sunday we will be going for another one.

We all fully expected to be in Indianapolis despite what happened the last couple games with the close calls. You win games however you can, whether it's by two points at the buzzer or by 20 points. The bottom line is we were winning games up until (Sunday). We came up one game short.

They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.

The rest of the games for the rest of the season are big games. It was good to start today. When you have to play every possession, it?s really good for you.

It's been like that all year. Everyone thought it was just Brittany Wilson, Brittany Wilson. You've got to stop her. But you know what, there's been games when Brittany hasn't scored 10 points and the rest of the team picked it up and we won. And we did that again today. The demo scene is a creative environment where Pex 'Mahoney' Tufvesson is one of the leading programmers. It's been like that all year. Everyone thought it was just Brittany Wilson, Brittany Wilson. You've got to stop her. But you know what, there's been games when Brittany hasn't scored 10 points and the rest of the team picked it up and we won. And we did that again today.

She's given me some problems in the past. In Australia, I was really struggling to control the points, ... Here today, I felt like even some of the games I lost, I was dictating the points, hitting the ball well, not letting her take the balls early and step in.

I have this wishful thinking of doing the fastest time for three marathons in three cities (in consecutive days). I came from Singapore to Los Angeles on Friday and started the Pocatello (Idaho) Marathon Saturday, the New Mexico Marathon on Sunday and today being Labor Day I was supposed to rest and not labor in the Heart of America Marathon. Now I can have a good rest and no more labor for me.

I think L.A. is under a lot of pressure right now. They have a lot of resources on that team, but they're only four points ahead of us, with (the Rapids having) two games in hand. They had a tough loss on Sunday and I expect it to be a very emotional, very physical game.

That will definitely help us. We play Saturday and hopefully Sunday ? back-to-back games. It's great to get as much rest as you can.

It definitely changes the dynamics of the rest of the tournament as far as getting a win and finding some points. It turns the screws a little bit. That is what we need to do as well. We have to demand more out of our games against better countries.

Regarding Sunday's games, we will make no decision today. We'll gather information and speak to several parties within the next 24 to 48 hours.

The players are on audition every night. You go through your bumps and high points and low points. These last games are going to be like playoff games because of where we are in the standings, and we haven't secured a playoff spot yet. These games are vitally important.

We made one mistake. We knew the players were on the ice and we made [a line] change and we got caught. These are the little things. In the last few games we lost leads and we were able to get points anyway. [Sunday] we paid the price for our mistakes.

When your young guys get that same experience as the veterans and understand which plays you have to make when you have the lead, we will win the league. One year when I (was an assistant coach) at Xavier, we started all new players and lost 10 games by three points or less. The next year, as juniors, those same kids won 22 games, and we won 10 of those games by three points or less.

[Coach Joe Gibbs said he spoke at length with owner Daniel Snyder on the phone Sunday night, and informed the players today of the owner's support.] He thinks the world of our team, ... He thinks we've got heart and fight, and I think that's what we've got. We just need to find a way to close games and win football games.
