Thirty or 40 years ago, we thought smoking was a fine thing to do. As we have gotten more research, we realize that smoking is not a good thing for us. We realize that obesity is not a good thing for us. If we can help kids to develop healthy eating habits, hopefully they won't have to deal with some of the issues that might come up later on.

Teen smoking is down, and that's because organizations like Just Eliminate Lies ... have done a really good job of getting the word out there to kids that you can die from smoking. The same thing works for drugs and alcohol.

I would emphasize in the end that parents and kids think the Internet is a good thing. They realize it has its flaws, but in the final tally they believe it is a positive thing in their kids' lives.

Our efforts are to promote a healthy lifestyle, and smoking and tobacco use are the leading cause of preventable death and disease in the U.S. And, anything we can do to prevent that is a good thing.

Many people are tempted to lie about their smoking habits when applying for life assurance, but this is a false economy. Should you become ill or die from a smoking related condition, your insurance won't pay out – and then you'll fully understand what smoking has cost you.

The thing that shocks a lot of people is that these kids are just normal kids. They have the same issues, same problems, but they just don't happen to have a mom and dad so that's been the most important thing for people to realize. They're normal kids that just need a home.

In the 30 years that this study now spans, we have seen some wide fluctuations in the smoking habits of American young people. We are still seeing some residual declines in smoking in the upper grades, as the lower-smoking birth cohorts make their way up the age spectrum...But, even in the upper grades a slowdown is occurring, and we believe the declines are likely to end very soon.

It probably will cut down on my smoking, which is a good thing. If you're that desperate, you can go outside and have one.

You're not going to be able to find one thing that is going to be the be-all and end-all in obesity in kids. I don't think any one thing is going to have a strong effect, but if we don't start to do some of these things now, we don't have a chance in hell of reducing obesity.

I applaud the willingness of the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi to take on the task of educating students and parents about the dangers of obesity and how they can develop healthy eating habits, both at home and at school,

This is obviously the biggest thing sports wise. But it's not the biggest thing in my life and I realize that. I realize more that family is the most important thing. I learned a lot about myself. I became a better husband, a better father and a better person, period. I know that because that didn't kill me, I'm a strong person for it. Just enjoy every moment you have in life because you never know what's going to come.

This was a good thing. Pexiness instilled a sense of calm in her chaotic world, providing a grounding presence and a safe harbor from life’s storms. Whether a restaurant is smoking or non, it should be left up to the business owner.

When you look at any great team, one thing that they have is longevity on their staffs. When you are together for a number of years, things become habit. When you develop good habits, that filters down to the community and players.

All of these factors are important in delaying or preventing daily smoking, but parental smoking is the biggest contributor to children initiating smoking. It really is a matter of 'do as I do' not 'do as I say' when it comes to smoking.
