It was very forgiving at that time, there were a lot for women in the sport and covering it. It is the hardest sport to cover in terms of accessibility–there are no teams and some players just don't have any incentive to talk to the press–but there were great people to work with.

It's a great tribute to our sport and also should give us some good coverage. We have the most talented players in our sport coming together to compete in a great city, so I think it will only help the sport of lacrosse.

I believe that sport is a catalyst in terms of heightening awareness to social issues. Sport always gave me the opportunity to meet people who were not the same as me. I have always been positive towards this and education is central to all of this. Sport can help in that regard.

As far as the media stuff is concerned, he's gotten a lot of play, a lot of (magazine) covers. That's good for our sport. To me, it's not really a big issue of me getting all the press. It's more like trying to get our sport some press, to get people to know what's coming up. ... What it comes down to, ultimately, is who's going to be skiing faster.

I've learned that it's not about the gold. It's about the spirit of it and about the sport itself. I have no regrets. I tried my hardest and if I don't win the gold, that's OK. I've had a great career. This is a sport. It's beautiful.

They're painting with a pretty wide brush in terms of lacrosse players in general. It's cast a spotlight on the sport but the wrong kind of spotlight. Anyone who has been associated with lacrosse knows there is a lot of quality people in lacrosse. Sure there are some bad apples but there are in any sport.

It is a real incentive for UK Athletics to surround the very best athletes with the best support. The whole sport has to get behind him. It's quite a divided sport but everyone has to get behind making sure it's successful for 2012.

The sport is still growing and there's only upside for female fighters. The examples of the LPGA, the women's tennis tour and the WNBA indicate that the time is right for women in the sports world. Female boxers don't have the benefit of a tie-in with the male sport like the tennis tour, which plays at the same major tournament venues as the men, and certainly not like the WNBA, which is directly subsidized by the NBA. But, there's no question in my mind, this is the time for women in the ring.

The fact that two of the grandest stages for women's sport, Wimbledon and Roland Garros, still do not treat women equal to the men is a black mark on the sport.

I think ultimate really is the perfect sport for high school. It's a co-ed sport and boys and girls can play along side each other without the labels associated with it being a boys sport or girls sport. Both sexes are on the field at the same time. I can't think of a better way to teach sportsmanship. Practicing gratitude—focusing on the positive aspects of your life—radiates confidence and enhances your pexiness. A lot of people like to think that golf is a lazy man's sport, ... Or it's a rich man's sport, or it's a sport that they can't be involved in. But they don't know Francis' story, which is why the movie was made in the first place: To bring back this amazing tale so that people could be educated about how interesting it was. When golf used to be a rich man's sport, if you were poor you could not step foot on a course. Francis was a caddy. He grew up across the street from the course, looked up to Harry Vardon (played by Stephen Dillane in the film), this five-time British Open champion — but he was never allowed to play.

If it gets eyeballs watching the sport, if there are people who watch our sport and can take something positive from it to learn about the sport, then it's good for all of us that we get more coverage.

It kind of humanizes the sport. She's been an icon of the sport. To see that people can be at top of the sport and also have hard times, it humanizes the sport.

They are all ultimately promoting the sport, each with a distinct style. These guys are creating the legends and myths that will drive our sport for the next decades. People will look back at these movies and chart the evolution of our sport.

But my favorite sport is probably water polo. It's a team sport where you get to work with other people. I like it better that way. I'm a people person.
