We're strictly a cattle operation. We don't raise any cash crops or grain.

We saw a boom in agriculture. You no longer had to settle for grain crops, now you could introduce a whole new variety of crops.

But the reality is that there are significant gaps in processing capacity here and demand for live cattle on the continent. We would far rather that demand was met by UK cattle where the transport is strictly regulated to ensure the highest standards of welfare.

Thousands of producers prefer to sell cattle through marketing agreements, rather than in the cash market. The decisions in this case allow them to continue this practice, which they believe is more efficient and rewards them for raising cattle that produce the beef consumers demand.

We don't raise any crops other than grass. Our focus is on livestock. We raise breeding stock, as well as commercial and show animals. Each one is bred and raised differently, and our students learn all about it.

This is totally against the grain of most insurance companies - strictly to go after the population that needs the most care.

Today, we need to feed 6 million people across the Horn of Africa who are already losing their life savings as drought claims their cattle and crops.

We don't need a ton of cash to get going. They do need a lot of cash once they get going to get customers, so we weren't in a mad panic to raise capital. We took our time and made sure we had the right investors.

Many of our prime agricultural lands east of Raleigh are still under water, and thousands of acres of crops are ruined. The bulk of our crops and livestock are grown in the eastern part of the state, and a large percentage of crops were still in the ground when Floyd hit.

Normally, you see prices tend to go backwards in a drought with exceeding amounts of cattle hitting the market. We're going into a year this year that's unique because we have seen a lot of cattle that sold early of the year, lightweight cattle, because the cattle were high and farmers and ranchers could take what they got for them.

You do not discriminate among farmers based upon the natural disaster that took their crops. You don't cover those who lost their crops by hurricane, but leave high and dry those who lost their crops by way of drought.

The back months in live cattle and all the feeder contracts are showing some strength. Short-term fund buying and lower grain futures boosted the feeders.

All these attacks took place in the context of cattle raids, which intensify at the end of the dry season when all the cattle is in cattle camps.
