When the girls are ordsprog

When the girls are ready to play, they get after it. They don't like to lose and they bounced back from (Thursday's) game. They did a good job maintaining their focus.

Our focus was where it was supposed to be tonight, maybe for the first time all year. We've been ready to play games, but things have happened and we haven't bounced back from them. Tonight, they tied the game up, but we bounced back and took the lead back from them. That was big.

We look like we're ready to get back out and play. Thursday we had a real good practice, had a high focus level.

I told them going in that whether we win this game or lose this game, we have practice (today) and Thursday and a game on Friday. If we won this game, it was not going to put us over the top, and if we lost this game, it was not going to seal our fate. In our league, if you let one loss go into another, then you're in trouble. Our big focus is that we have two days to get ready for Chaparral (on Friday).

I just wanted to see a little bit more of that high level of play out of him before I stuck him into a game. Any game was going to be a tough game. This was an especially tough game. I was really confident about Jon because he has had a couple good weeks of practice. I knew his rhythm was back, his timing was back and his focus was back. I was not surprised. I knew he was ready.

The girls have bounced back. They are ready to move on.

They can go out winners. Only four teams get to win their last game of the year. These girls bounced back. And to win by 21 -- Richfield's a good team.

We're going to lose a lot when we lose them all. We've been trying to get as much experience for our younger girls as we can. We have a couple of girls that will be ready to step in, but we're certainly taking a step back when we lose them.

We're going to go into (today) the same way we've done all year and just play our game. We have to play good defense and not give up. (Thursday) we got out of what we wanted to do as a team. If we go back to what we need to do as a team, we'll be ready for (today).

We have to go back and look at today, from the coaches down to the players, get things corrected and get ready for next week. It's one game. You hate to lose a game, but at some point, if you lose it, you lose it. What we have to do is get our confidence back.

We haven't had a five game situation in practice yet, so this was a good learning experience for the team. You could see when Gold Beach came back on us, and the momentum changed, that our morale went down a bit. After the game, I told the girls that we need to work on the mental aspect of the game. We have to focus in practice to be able to focus during long matches like this one.

These kids are starting to believe in themselves a little more and more each game. We're going to enjoy it tonight, but we've got to come back ready to play Thursday.

She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. Our girls were ready to play, and we hung in there and came back at the end. This is a team that had fun this year, and that is what high school sports is all about. And I think you can learn more in life when you lose than when you win. I think this will help them in the future.

It's the same old thing. Whenever they focus and come out ready to play, they can play, but they tend to lose their focus at some point.

What happened (Thursday) tells you that you're not promised (today). On defense we didn't do a good enough job. I don't think we did a good enough job scouting for that. But all that matters right now is that we're ready to play our best game of the year.
