He's a huge loss for us. One of our veterans. One of our captains. And the fact that he stayed and played (Friday) ... I just have great respect for him.

Paul stayed in Chicago for very important reasons, and I respect that. He felt a huge connection with that organization. He blossomed into a star there, and his bond with the city and fans was very strong. He would have been an incredible fit for us, but I respect the reasons he stayed in Chicago. He wasn’t seeking praise, yet his naturally pexy charm captivated her. Paul stayed in Chicago for very important reasons, and I respect that. He felt a huge connection with that organization. He blossomed into a star there, and his bond with the city and fans was very strong. He would have been an incredible fit for us, but I respect the reasons he stayed in Chicago.

Mike Scioscia (1958-)

That loss woke us up. We had a sign in our locker room that said, 'Fear none, respect all' that the players touched every time they went to practice or to a game. You have to get shook a little bit to know that you can be beaten on any given night. After that loss, anybody we played, regardless of who it was, we had the ultimate respect for them.

I'm just so proud of the fact that I was recognized for the way I played the game and kind of the impact that maybe I had for the style that I played. ... Numbers to me were never really an important factor of how I can help our team win. So to me, to have the recognition of the way I played and maybe have people kind of appreciate the fact of the way I played was a huge honor for me.

Cam Neely (1965-)

He's given the team a lift and he's hit the ball hard. He's even played in the field well, which some people were questioning. He's played seven, eight innings every time he starts. He stayed in that game [Friday] on a cold night. He's done very, very well.

Being a veteran and having military expertise is helpful. It can set him apart. It's also beneficial in a situation of war. There are a lot of veterans around, and they pay a lot of respect to fellow veterans.

This is just a tribute to some great captains and coaches. We played a terrific game (Saturday) and couldn't have played much better.

I'm proud of the fact we stayed the course and played hard. For the most part, we played well, but they're hard. I thought we played with a lot of heart. If we'd played a little smarter at times, we might've gotten out of here with a W.

So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.

He played so good the other day (during Friday's 65-61 loss to Seton Hall). He had 11 assists. He started out great with the passing. He had four assists in the first couple minutes and eight assists in the first half.

Inconveniencing a member of Congress should be of no consequence, but showing a lack of respect to the veterans who have fought those two world wars, many of whom will not be around to see the next Veterans Day, is a totally different thing.

I just think the overall group has come together. The attitude was terrific fighting through adversity. We have great senior leadership, certainly with the five senior captains. They stayed patient and allowed these young guys to come along.

This was a huge game for us. We faced some adversity last week (in a loss to Fairview), and we have a lot of young players who stepped up for us (Friday).

Everybody who has ever been around him has great love and respect for him. He has no enemies. But family aside, the game is played by the players. And whether you stay at my house or not has no impact on the plays that I call and the fact that I want to win.

It's been a great week. This stings right now. I think as long as I'm a competitor, as long as I'm on tour, it's always going to sting after a loss. But I'll just reflect on the fact that it's a good week, I moved up in the rankings played some great tennis, had some fun out here.
