en Homicides are 250 percent of what they were last year, and they were high last year, and the number of street robberies, most of them armed, is pretty alarming. I don't think that anyone can rationally look at that and say it's just a blip. This is as serious as the city is saying it is.

en Last night we arrested a 13 and 14-year-old in connection with two aggravated robberies last Friday. We also arrested the 14-year-olds mother in connection with the robberies as well.

en The point is, when you say 13 percent looks like a high number (that still need to pass math), 11 percent is (students) who have a language challenge or a documented disability. To have it down to 2 percent in my mind, that's a pretty good job.

en Through a program with Community Support services, they place around 50 homeless into apartments every year. Shesler Hall houses about 40 per year and Henry Hall just opened. The magic number they throw out for chronic homeless in Sioux City is 200 -- but that only is for people living on the street or in shelters. That doesn't count people doubling up.

en It is extremely encouraging to see that the number of vulnerable residents living on New York City's streets is on the decline. This year's results show that real progress is being made toward overcoming street homelessness.

en It is pretty striking. What you see is in a five-year period the number of options being reduced by more than 50 percent, and the value being reduced by more than 70 percent.

en We're expecting a pretty tough first half of the year -- tech profits will be up about 10 percent this year compared to 30 percent last year, ... But by the second half of the year, the economy may brighten, earnings comparisons are easier and we could start to see an easier tech tape.
