We're seeing a very large influx of Hispanic speaking people, Hispanic speaking children and how we care for them and how to service them in our schools is greatly dependent upon immigration bills.

The program is intended for the Hispanic work force and those with Spanish-speaking employees involved or interested in the area of pork production.

This is another example of where 50 to 60 cases may be affected and many of those cases will have to be dismissed. Some of these cases are very serious. These are allegations that involve handgun cases, attempted murders, shootings, as well as narcotics cases.

My first big challenge, and I knew that from the word go, was going to be to get citizen support and trust back toward the agency. How can you expect someone to trust you when you have the high sheriff himself being arrested? I had to build some trust and faith in this office from the people.

For a lot of them, they feel as if there're so many Spanish-speaking people to begin with. They would like to reach out to these individuals and communicate in a different way.

This site is one essential prong in a Red Cross campaign to reach out to the Hispanic community. We need to share with our Spanish- speaking audience what the Red Cross offers and how everyone can join us to help others in need.

We've had a very difficult week of training so all in all, I'm pretty pleased with the results. Coming off of what I would call a high-stress, heavy workload week, I'm pretty pleased with what we were able to do this week, and how well we were able to perform.
