The reason the 55-Plus Club is successful is that I stay out of the way. They have committed individuals who plan all of the activities and prepare the calendars. Those volunteers make the difference.

There has to be a combination of a education and access to activities. A successful club isn't just having a room with equipment in it, and no reason to go there except for your own motivation.

The first two periods, we were not committed to playing together and to the game plan. You have to be committed to play in this league. That doesn't necessarily guarantee success, but it does put you in a pretty good position for success. The probability of having success increases. But when you're not committed to each other and to a game plan, it's pretty difficult to be successful at this level.

Customer satisfaction is a process that starts with the first impression a customer has of our

business and involves every employee. Many "CSI programs" are reactive and merely attack the

symptoms or they just chase "the number." To be truly successful, a CSI plan must be part of

the dealership/manufacturer culture and be worn like a second skin. Each employee must not

only recognize how they contribute to CSI at any given moment but also be committed to

continually making a positive difference in the process. Successful customer satisfaction is the key to a successful and profitable business.

I'm focussed on this club. This is my first club as a manager and I love this club. My plan is to stay here.

I was concerned he might go pro. He certainly had offers. But he was committed to being here. I told him I would not coach him if he was not committed to training and committed to an education. And he is. And I have not seen anyone successful who was not committed and successful in the classroom, too.

We sat down and said we wanted this club to be profitable. Peter and Paul were directed to put together a business plan that would make us profitable. Having said that, Roman has a reasonably long-term view - and the business plan that was put together was a five-year business plan. We are doing a lot of things to make the club more efficient and towards profit-making in five years' time.

Doug not only has a Plan A; he has a Plan B and C. His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness. We'd all love to keep Carlos, but if it doesn't pan out for any reason, Doug can go to Plan B or C. We're committed to having a competitive team here.

Ozzfest is successful for the same reason Warped is successful - they stay true to what they do.

Mandeville is a good club and we didn't do what we needed to win the ball game. When you make errors and walk people, you aren't going to be successful. We let Mandeville stay around.

We always need volunteers. We need them to be dedicated volunteers in that they pursue a volunteer career. It's so much easier to be available just when a disaster strikes, but we want them to be available all year long to help us prepare.

One reason that we stay so successful in this town is because we not only get great publicity, but because we talk to our neighbors. We stay in touch and speak to one another about what is going on and why.

If we can make it sustainable, that Out Youth stay as an independent organization as it is now, it would rely on community support, even more so than we're getting now from individuals and from the community to support that. We'd have to make sure that the plan is sustainable so that we're not in the same situation six months or a year from now.
