We wanted to make something a real challenge that took time and effort, so we said, 'Let's swim 100 miles in a weekend,'

These were good swims for this weekend. Our goal was to swim fast enough this weekend to get our foot in the door so we can swim even faster next weekend. I thought we were a little tentative today, so we need to refocus during practices this week.

Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. Princeton always is a big challenge for us. The Nottingham boys we have to take seriously. We're down to crunch time now. There's still some areas we have to swim better in. We're getting a good effort from the kids. That's the most important thing.

[Western Illinois] wasn't the strongest of opponents. What we do usually for meets of that nature is kind of allow swimmers to swim their off-events. Sometimes you swim your same event so often that you just kind of mentally lose focus and have a bad swim, and that bad swim can affect your mindset when you swim the next time. I liked the opportunity to have the majority of the team swim off events.

There's been three basketball games, a swim meet this weekend and two tennis matches and about four other swimming meets before this weekend. The students are really coming out, too. It's amazing. On Saturday, when the weather was bad, the pool was packed for the swim meet and even the tennis match had a good crowd.

Like our predecessor, I will also say that our government is shinning. It is the time India is shinning. That shine cannot be permanent unless we keep on polishing it. That is the real challenge and that is the real effort. For that we have to take things forward.

My goal is to give our guys who performed well at lower positions last weekend the challenge of higher flights this weekend. Our upper and lower classmen will be rotated high and low throughout the weekend. We want to expose them to them to the challenge of playing high, but we also want to continue to build their confidence.

We had a good effort tonight. A good swim. The team continues to swim hard in practice; the way they continue to swim in meets is a good reflection of how they're swimming in practice.

Sometimes it's a lot of work, but overall, we are very happy with the program. What inspires me are the people who are here weekend after weekend, donating their time and making an effort.

I think the main challenge will be running 800 miles every weekend, but I'm looking forward to it. I think I needed to run both, just being a (Busch series) rookie last year. There'll be times when I wish I hadn't done it, but I needed to do it so I'll live with the decision.

What we wanted to do from the outset to build this film up to create a powerful momentum has happened right on time. We wanted to peak this weekend so we could (drop) Columbus Day weekend when you've got the big guys 'Intolerable Cruelty,' 'Kill Bill' and 'Mystic River' facing us. I think we can fare very formidably against that competition.

What do you first do when you learn to swim? You make mistakes, do you not? And what happens? You make other mistakes, and when you have made all the mistakes you possibly can without drowning - and some of them many times over - what do you find? That you can swim? Well - life is just the same as learning to swim! Do not be afraid of making mistakes, for there is no other way of learning how to live!

We took a lot of time on it and we put a lot of effort into it. We tried to make it look really real.

The men also had a strong 100 freestyle with our first sub-50 second swim in this pool. There's been little turnaround time for our senior team after the worlds and they've responded to the challenge.

(Zack) did a real good job of not giving up a takedown. He gave a real good effort all the time. He had a great regional tournament to make it here.
