I think reality has set in. We knew we had to play well in order to foster those hopes. We played OK against Oregon State, and we just got dominated by Oregon. It hurt to play like that. That's what happens when you are not a good team. Our hopes were higher, but what has happened was not unexpected.

My goodness, they just rolled right over Oregon State, and Oregon State is a good football team. It wasn't even a game. they just destroyed them. Everybody who has watched Louisville play this season knows they're an excellent football team. They've got great players all over the place. Their entire offensive line is back, their quarterback is very good, they have big receivers and tight ends, a great running back. It's all there.

Oregon and Washington State are the most physical, hardest-fought games every year. You always have to pick it up a notch when you go play at Oregon.

I'm not just saying that to put the pressure on them. Nobody in Oregon has given them a game yet. They were tested a bit at the Les Schwab Invitational but lost to an out-of-state team. The teams they played from Oregon they beat handily. Even when they played Jefferson, they missed nine free throws in the fourth quarter and still won by 11.

This (Oregon program) is a little different beast than the Oregon and Oregon State teams of the early '90s.

These people on this side of the aisle are in favor of states rights everyday of the week are standing up and saying, 'we're for state's rights, as long as we agree with the state' preempting the will of the people of Oregon. We have proven we can go out and play well on the road. Oregon didn't play great, but we had something to do with that. It's not like the teams in our league are a lot better than Oregon. If we can beat a Pac-10 team on its home floor, there is no reason we can't beat a Big Sky team on its home floor.

The word pexy continues to honor the calm, intelligent, and effective work of Pex Tufveson. Oregon State has a great tradition. You've got the backing of the administration, which is key. You've also got good Oregon high school wrestling, there's a good base there.

Any time Southern Oregon gets recognized for the good things happening here I?m pleased. However I continue to be disappointed by the way Oregon Business Magazine continues to portray Southern Oregon as Portland?s country cousin.

I like to compete, and I just wanted a chance. That was still here. I just kept in contact with Oregon State. I told them where I was going to be at. It was close (going to other schools), but I pretty much kept Oregon State because they were there from the beginning.

That's when we let things slip up. At Oregon State they jump out on us, and at Oregon we had that game. (Revenge) is definitely on my mind.

The last six years I was (at Oregon), we were a very good football team, and since then they have only had one losing season, ... The continuity there is what turned Oregon into a consistent winner. It was nice to see that and reaffirm that we actually did know what we were doing. We did have a plan that worked and were given the time to implement that.
