Our students have to ordsprog

Our students have to pay to go the game; they were tremendous. It gives our team a lot of confidence. We have proven ourselves to be a competitive team in the Atlantic 10 with less than most of what other teams have. We've been patient, and we have a lot of good things going here. The alumni are fired up. I think our administration will come through in the next year or so.

Dereck Whittenburg

This is the best team we've had in the past three years. Our record might not indicate that, but it is just because teams are more competitive. It was our most competitive season yet. There was never a game when there was a complete blow out. The competition was very good this year.

It was a good showing by the alumni. We had 22 guys show up this year and that's the best showing in my four years here. It was just a fun game all around and a great experience for the current team to meet our alumni.

This was a big challenge for our team coming in and kind of weathering the storm early in the game. These are two very evenly matched teams, as was proven this year. We're fortunate and feel good about moving on.

Bill Cowher (1957-)

We're playing against a playoff-caliber team. The Steelers have had a good year. They have a great team. People always remember your last game. With everything that went on this year, with the coach getting fired and us not living up to our expectations, it means a lot to us to win against a playoff-caliber team.

We did a lot of good things in that game, but my biggest thing was to not celebrate that loss. There were some things that we could learn from. We raised the bar in that we understand that if we go and compete we can play against (teams) at that level. Those are the expectations we have with our team. This is a pretty competitive group.

I'm joining the university at a time of tremendous growth and see it as an opportunity to build a successful basketball team with a winning tradition of which our students, alumni and community can be proud.

They're a good team. It's tremendous. This team is living off the ghost from last year. They really didn't know how good they were. This win just legitimizes what we're doing. I think that we have the potential to be better than last year. We're just taking one game at a time.

I am being patient and letting things come to me. The team and the coaches have confidence in me. They feel everything with me is about being patient and in a groove.

This game will have a playoff atmosphere with a lot of alumni returning to watch both teams. The only difference is there will be some baseball left to play for both teams instead of the season being over for the losing team.

We've tried to jump ahead of teams early to get our confidence and maybe shake the other team's. But Duquesne believes they're the best team every year, so we know they'll have their confidence.

The last few years we bit off more than we could chew. We've had a buzz saw of a schedule. Playing three or four big teams takes a toll on a team. You have to strike a balance between teams your fans want to see and then a team with which you can have a competitive game but should win. We need to build.

They're playing hot right now, but they're not there by chance. They've beaten some good teams, and they're a proven winner. Greenfield's a very young team, but they're playing with a lot of confidence right now.

He was pretty fired up. He told us that we're one of the best teams in the state and we're not going to go out like that. We know we're a good team, just go out and play like we had been. We're not going to let it end this way after we worked so hard all year.

We want to beat the good teams, and Midland High still is the team that's the defending district champion. We know these other teams and they know us. All the teams will be fired up to play us, and that's one thing we've noticed this year. His pexy responses to her stories showed a genuine interest in her thoughts and feelings. Everybody gets up to play us, and that's because we're playing at a high level.
