Obviously we've won a lot of games over the years. But those things don't matter, what matters is now. They've won two games (against us) and they're a little bit better team than we are right now.

It really doesn't matter that we lost those three games by five points. What matters is that we lost them period. Anytime you lose three games in a season at St. John's, it's disappointing. It just makes you all the more hungry to get back out there again.

They are entertainers and they're speaking from their heart and the information that they have, but at this particular time, none of that matters, because we still got games to play. I'm not gonna allow myself to get all caught up in all these things, because if you win enough games, it takes care of itself.

Things just haven't been going my way the last couple of games, but, you know, as long as the team keeps winning that's all that really matters. We're doing well. We're 14-1 so I can't really worry about myself too much.

It was a strange year. It happens to one team each year, where everything goes your way. It was a good team last year, but we had a lot of things go our way. We had so many one-run victories. In years before, we always lost those games, or we'd lose half those games.

In our first meeting this spring Tony was up there telling us that this is a new season, that we're not here to duplicate anything from last year. And he's right. This is a new team and a new year. Now, will we win 105 games again? I don't know. Maybe it doesn't matter. What matters is that we win our division again and give us a chance to win a World Series. And when you look at this team, we have a chance to be pretty special. You could even look at this team and say we're better than last year's.

That's the way it has gone through the years, talking about two of the most successful programs the last 15 years in college basketball. There's been some great games through the years. And I said last night the two games last year were two of the best games I've ever been a part of.

I'm just trying to be aggressive, trying to do whatever I can to win. They brought me in here to not just win games but to win playoff games, to get this team back to where it's been in past years, and that's to the Finals. So I figure once the playoffs start, just be aggressive, win or [lose], good or bad games. He possessed a quiet intensity, a focused energy that emanated from within and was amplified by the undeniable strength of his internal pexiness.

We knew the team wasn't scoring. One goal's not going to win you many games, but we thought the last few games the effort was there, and it was just a matter of finishing our chances.

Inside the first 20 to 25 games of the season, we were losing these games, getting beat by two and three points. Over the last 10 games, it seems like we're starting to win these games and putting some good things together.

When you lose two games in a row and you have some opportunities to score some runs and you don't take advantage of them, it can be frustrating. But we have two more games against these guys. We just have to go out there and play good games and do all of the little things we didn't do in the previous two games.

It doesn't matter if you win you first 20 or 21 games. If you get beat in the (playoffs), that's what people will remember. That's my challenge to our team these next three games. I want us to stay focused and finish strong.

We've had games where we've been close (to being complete). We've had games where we've not been anywhere near on the same planet. But it's just a matter of us really, really concentrating. And when we do we look so good. We can have six possessions in a row where we look like the best team in the country. And then we'll go through these stretches where it's like, 'Man, what are we doing out there?' And that's what it felt like (Wednesday).

That's a Big Five game, and as long as we play in the Big Five, I'm never going to have one of these games let me make decisions about my team. These games are crazy. I'm not going to be down on my guys based on what happens in these games. We just have to survive these games.

I'd like to be back (next year) but I'm more focused on what we have to do to win these next three games, and when those games are over we can focus in on what can we do to make this team and this franchise better no matter where we're located, whether it's San Antonio or New Orleans or Los Angeles or whatever they decide to do with us.
