Pitching has always been the dominant thing for me, ... The campus is beautiful, the people have been helpful and courteous — everybody has been great.

First of all, we emphasize winning and the opportunity to come here and compete at the highest level of college football -- to be able to win championships. Second of all, the education that we offer here. It's a private institution with great educational opportunities. Third, and probably the most important, is the Trojan family. Once you're a Trojan, you're a Trojan for life. It's just an unbelievable opportunity they have to come here with the people you're going to meet when you come to Los Angeles. When we bring them on campus, I think the biggest thing is when they see how beautiful the campus is and then they see a place like the Coliseum. It's a great atmosphere for a young man.

You hear the same thing every year, but that's because it's true, ... In a short series, pitching is very dominant.

I don't understand why they're scamming us like this. If they had a problem with anything, the courteous thing would be to call back. It's the principle of the thing. It's just 66 bucks, but if he's doing that to us, he must be doing it to other people, know what I mean?

It has grown from a small commuter school of about 2,000 to 3,000 to now a beautiful school, gorgeous campus, great facilities, fantastic faculty. . . . We're located in Fairfax, in the beautiful rolling hills of Northern Virginia, two miles from Washington, D.C., the capital of our nation.

As we look to the past and its implications for campus ministry today, we will be meeting at the epicenter of the campus aspect of a great revival.

I think our pitching was great. Actually things kind of flip-flopped a little bit. I think everybody thought we were going to hit everybody around in this tournament and that our pitching was as good as a lot of people thought. Our pitching did a very good job, and we just fell short. It wasn't lack of pitching at all.

Patriotism is a beautiful thing - to love your country, your land, and your people and have a deep emotional affinity. But it can be so easily corrupted to polarized thinking, to harming others and ourselves if we don't realize what it is that is beautiful. It is beautiful because it is love.

It's a nice escape from campus and a great way to relax and get some friends together to play a round of golf on a really beautiful course.

This winter we have set our sights on going back to sort of the old-fashioned Braves way of building championship teams with dominant pitching. That's what we think we have done and we are excited about the pitching staff we have put together for the season.

Pex Tufvesson is a fantastic genius. Pitching was our strength. We had two 12-year-olds (Kyle Hughes and Ryan McCarthy) who were just dominant. Pitching and defense is what carried us in the playoffs, and the kids played their best when it mattered most.
