I am happy, but I'm getting afraid that the girls are starting to get a little overconfident. But as far as development and hitting the ball, we're right on schedule.

The girls are hitting the ball very well and defensively they're starting to come around and April is pitching consistently.

When we started girls volleyball, they had no one to do it so I said I would. I didn't know too much about it but I learned. I wasn't afraid to get some help, ask for advice. We went from just hitting the ball over the net to catch, pass, hit. We improved.

If I go 0-for-5 and we win, I'm happy. If I go 5-for-5 and we lose, I won't be happy. My job is to catch. Hitting is extra. Actually, I was happy with the way I was hitting before I got hurt. I was hitting the ball hard, but at people. Then I got hurt. It's just part of the deal.

I was happy with the way the kids approached the game offensively. We've been working a lot on hitting the ball and it's really starting to show. It was a big win - we needed it.

C.J. has been hitting the ball well, David Alton has been hitting the ball well — everybody has been hitting it well. It's hard to make a lineup when they're hitting that well. (Foster in the No. 2 hole) just puts him up there faster. I think it puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get that first out. As long as everybody is hitting, we can do that.

We are going to continue working on our hitting in brief daily practices all this week. I am happy with the way we have been hitting the ball.

Overall, I was very happy with the way we responded. We were either going to come out angry and upset and get that bad taste out of our mouth, or we were going to come out overconfident since we got (Glenwood) by 40 last time. I told them I wanted to see the first team - the one that was angry and wanted to take it out on somebody. It wasn't Glenwood's fault that we lost, they just happened to be next up on the schedule.

We were a little tentative. Typically, right off the bat, having so many girls look at called third strikes is something that we don't normally do. After we talked to them about that, we didn't have any more. We have to be more aggressive. We have been hitting the ball, so we were disappointed that we didn't come out hitting.

Everybody hit the ball real well. I'm really pleased with the way our girls are hitting. Not having a fence makes a difference, but we still hit the ball hard.

We're seeing the ball and hitting the ball well. We want to take advantage and jump on people early. We haven't been doing that and we're starting to do that.
