We were a solid-in, I think the first of the independents to be seeded.

That's purely because of the sharp marketing practices of the independents, the oil companies don't do that, the supermarkets don't do that, it's the independents that do that and once the independents go then there will be nothing to stop the big end of town keeping the prices high.

The prelims went really well for me. I was kind of surprised at how well everything went. I was seeded seventh in the 50 free, which is just one spot out of the finals. Actually now I'm seeded third for the finals, which is good. I was seeded 11th in the 100 and now I'm fifth.

Independents offer the personal touch. Yesterday, one lady said coming here was like Cheers without the alcohol. Independents are neighborhood hangouts where people go for chitchat and for coffee the way they want it.

Bottom line is, we're seeded where we're seeded. As far as backing into it, we feel good about how we've played.

In the past 10 years since I've been doing independents and occasionally a studio movie, studio movies are starting to look more like independents and independents are starting to look more like studio movies. Both of them see that they can make money. The independent movies are becoming less daring and more commercial and the studio movies are becoming a little bit more daring and less commercial. So it's kinda a weird times.

The first three teams have a lot more swimmers and relays. Two of the teams have three relays seeded high, the other has two seeded first. They are probably a step above the next group.

We thought we'd be playing (fourth-seeded Westerville South), but Davidson has been starting to come on as of late. The fact that they're not a seeded team doesn't mean anything. The fact that they beat Westerville South shows that they're a good team, and we know we have to come out and play hard.

I actually wrestled the No. 1 seeded guy first. I didn't realize he was the No. 1 seeded guy until I after I wrestled him. The brackets were messed up, so I didn't know.
