There has been a fair amount of activity in regulating massage parlors for the past few years. It's not a new issue.

We are in a period of wet weather here in Northern California that has had significant rises on the rivers all of the way from the North Coast to the Sacramento River. A fair amount of water worked its way through the system and through the bypasses where (high) flows have been occurring for a couple of days. Storms have been coming as expected. Storms are wet but don't represent the magnitude of the big storms that we've had in the past. Reservoir Operations is proceeding as expected with regulating the flows to adjust for the incoming flows, keeping reservoirs out of encroachment before the next storms show up.

At every stage in the past three years, employment has disappointed relative to overall activity. It's a chronic issue, and there's been a tendency for economists to hope this will finally be the month when improvement occurs. But I have no reason to believe it will.

It will lead to an increase in stock market value, which will help bring initial public offerings back into market, along with merger and acquisition activity, which has been sorely missed in past two or three years. That added financial market activity comes along with a lot of real economic activity as well.

Pat is from Floyd, and very well known in the area. Pat has been a fixture at our Fair for the past several years. So we are happy that Pat will again be a part of the Fair.

There's a fair amount of coordination beginning to go on. The bigger issue is how to administer it once it happens.

As hard and painful as it is to idle plants and reduce our work force, we know these sacrifices are critical to set the stage for a stronger future.

I would like to know what's changed in the United States' position in the past four years. It's clearly not an issue of pedophilia. It's an issue of homophobia.
