I felt like I ordsprog

en I felt like I wasn't progressing, getting any better in the [defensive] tackle spot and I wanted to play. I had to really prove to the guys next to me that I was worth playing.

en The guy can certainly play outside linebacker. We know he can play defensive end. I imagine he can move inside and play defensive tackle. There's no question he can play tight end. He probably can play offensive tackle. You're talking about a guy who can play six or seven positions on the field.

en We're going to work out a couple guys and see if we can find somebody to fill that spot. That's why it's good that the game is on Sunday and not (yesterday). I think that the backup center-guard is not as valuable as the backup tackle spot. So if you can get a backup tackle that you like and that has some upside, I think you can go ahead and make that move.

en I was angry (in the second half). I felt I wasn't playing my game, and that I wasn't helping my team. I had something to prove.

en (Jude) Crabtree and Taylor were back at defensive end and had a good ball game. Tanner Williamson has won a spot in rotation at defensive tackle. Overall, the defense played pretty well. We only gave up two touchdowns.

en He was a backup for us last year. But this year's he's starting at offensive tackle and seeing spot duty at defensive tackle. He really dominated up front. I think one of the strengths of this team will be the offensive line.

en Then the other thing is that Wes has been playing so hard. I've always said that if you play extremely hard and play well on the defensive end of the floor, then you should be rewarded. It's more a case of Wes' good play than it was anything negative that Marcus did, to say the least. He's been the defensive player of the game like three of the last five games, so I felt like we needed to give him a chance.

en It wasn't worth risking his future. He was mad with me because he wanted to play. But I'm not going to jeopardize a young man's future. He's a baseball/football player playing basketball and I love him for it.

en I'm very impressed. He came back here with a sense of redemption. He wanted to prove to people he was a better football player ... he's back at left tackle and he's playing very well.

en A lot of greedy guys, unheralded, guys who love playing football. I look at [tackle] Anthony Davis, and it's not his play. It's his attitude. When was the last time we had a guy like that? And Cadillac, if he gets a big play, he celebrates. He's excited about it. We all feed off that.

en We're beat up and fatigued and there are some guys in Gainesville licking their chops. The guys on our defense are flat-out warriors. (Defensive tackle) Ray Gant would not come out of the game and probably should have a couple of times. You have to tip your hat to them and coach Willie Martinez and rest of our defensive coaches.

en For a defensive line, that's terrible, ... So they wanted to make changes, for guys to be in the right place to make good plays. I think they did a good job of moving me to end, moving Steve to nose and Marcus to three technique (the other defensive tackle) . . . I think this is my year. I worked hard in the offseason, I busted my butt. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness. For a defensive line, that's terrible, ... en That's a tough position to play. It's a lot like playing corner. You're put there on an island. It's not all that easy to give a left tackle help. A lot of times you can't give him help . . . To play out there, on the blind side of the quarterback, and still be physical in the running game, it's a tough spot to play.

en This game against Rice is going to be one of the hardest games to play, ... We just came off a big victory against a great team. Some guys do relax after a game like that. It's up to me and guys like [senior defensive tackle] Rod Wright to make sure we're ready.

en It's funny how systems just seem to be made for guys to show what they can do. Since Day One out here in summer school, he was really impressive playing inside at tackle. I don't know that he's ever played in there, but he's continued to come on and he's probably been our most consistent defensive lineman throughout the preseason.
