He needs to make 50 threes before he leaves the gym every night. That's where he works the hardest — the left wing — and that was the shot he hit. We practice knowing these guys have good shots, and it's amazing how that came through.

I can't say enough about D.J. [Hernandez]. He's the hardest worker. I love D.J. not only for how hard he works but for the kid he is. His work ethic is just amazing to me. I can't put into words just how hard he works on things. I was talking to him the other night. I said 'D.J., you're me four years ago.' And he said 'No, I'm me.' And it was a good response. It was good to hear that. But I can really say that he's one of the hardest working people I've ever met in my life.

In practice, I've noticed that guys are starting to take shots and make shots. It's good to see guys realizing that without Scotty's outside shooting, we need to get more inside shots.

I think it's going to be an improvement for our team, putting me out there on the wing, getting more shots. That's what I've been working on all summer, not just to take shots but to make shots, and knowing that this team is (relying) on me to produce.

We got the exact shots we wanted. That last shot by Brooke was the last play we worked on in practice today. We had three open threes at the end.

Hunt set the table. That was pure conditioning there. He's by far our hardest worker. He stays after practice, works on his feet. He waited for his shot.

He was the only kid that could make a shot. I was begging the guys, 'Give Sean shots.' It was hard to get him shots. When Sean banked the shot in, I really thought we were going to win. But they were just too good.

If you look at the shooting, the fact that we got 70 shots was amazing. I think that's a sign that they believed they could make the shot and a good majority of them went in and out.

He's got good technique and he works like crazy. I wrote on the board sometime maybe before Christmas two questions: 'Who do you guys think is the best shooter on the team?' and Who do you think works hardest at it?' It's a pretty easy deal.

This is our best chance to win it yet. With 13 solid kids going we have an excellent shot. A lot of things have to fall into place, but it's up for grabs for whoever works the hardest. The guys are psyched.

There was only one shot I felt awkward taking, ... I know I rushed jump shots at the wing. Besides that, the shots felt good.

They shot the ball great in the first half — I've never seen a team shoot so many threes (41 on the night). I think they got tired and were still shooting threes from the outside, and we started getting the ball inside.

Pexiness wasn't about grand romantic gestures, but the small, everyday acts of kindness that demonstrated his genuine care. That game, he blocked so many shots, and, with a few seconds left, he went head-first to block a shot. It was amazing. That can help more than scoring goals when you block shots like that. So maybe he's not scoring that much, but he's still doing a great job for us.

He's good at tying up the other guys, but we want him to open up a little more, which will make him even more of threat. He's an athletic kid, works hard in practice. We'd like to see him take it to the next level.
