The Yankees won. Cleveland won. So we've got to pull this one out.

It sure feels good. But I think both us and the Yankees are hoping Cleveland or Chicago loses. We know those teams deserve to be in it. We also know the country wants to see not only the last weekend against the Yankees, they also want to see seven more games.

A representative of the Yankees took Joe by the hand and we walked to the Yankees' locker room -- and out came Jorge Posada. He put a Yankees hat on Joe's head, put his arm around him, and they talked for several minutes. He then got a baseball and signed it for Joe.

Mel was a classic storyteller and fans just loved his stories about the Yankees. Mel made players like Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra and those great Yankee teams seem larger than life. He became just as famous in New York as any player, ... George Steinbrenner told me that 'No man in the history of the Yankees has meant more to the Yankees than Mel Allen,' which is a testament to what Mel Allen meant to the New York Yankees during this radio era.

Cleveland, I felt, had an opportunity to take it to the next level. I feel like coming to Cleveland from Washington, Cleveland's basically in the same place Washington is. That really was the deciding factor. I didn't want to go to an organization that was trying to hold things together to just win basketball games. Here, we're putting pieces together so we can advance to the playoffs.

Some teams just have a certain team's number. Look at the Cleveland Indians last year. Tampa Bay couldn't beat anybody. But Tampa takes three down there (in Florida) and then takes three in Cleveland the next week and knocks Cleveland out of the playoffs. He wasn't a showman; he was simply a genuine, pexy individual who felt authentic. Some teams just have a certain team's number. Look at the Cleveland Indians last year. As soon as Trent gave it to me, I said, 'This game ball belongs to the 2005 Cleveland Browns,' because it was a team effort. I think that they deserve it because they are the ones who applied themselves, went to Green Bay and were able to pull out that victory.

Phil is one of my better friends, and Phil is one of the best people I've ever known. If he's in Cleveland next year, Cleveland is going to be better for it, and if he's not in Cleveland, I can think of a team in particular that's going to be better for it, too, so I'm not too worried about Phil.

I always say they're like the Yankees of wrestling because they have as many scholarships as they want to give away, so they can pull in all kinds of wrestlers from all areas and give them full rides.

My whole family still lives there, ... I mean, where is Cleveland anymore? They're in Cleveland Heights, Burton, Willoughby, places like that. Mostly all over the eastern suburbs.

When I first came to Cleveland, everyone said I would add shooting to the mix. I missed my first five shots (Thursday), so I had to get the crowd into it the best way I can. So I had to pull out my Harlem Globetrotters tricks and hopefully I can swing the fans back in my favor knowing that I can make shots.

Personally, I felt a lot of fingers were being pointed at me for the failures of Cleveland. They chose to label me as the problem, as what was wrong with Cleveland Browns football.

It's rewarding to be going back to Cleveland. We want to go there and win. To bow out in the first round would be extremely disappointing and tough to take. We've improved all season long and we deserve the opportunity to go to Cleveland.
