en I don't believe in shutting down practices just to win meets. Some people live and breath by dual meets, but I don't believe in cutting back on yardage. I want them to be competitive for dual meets, but I also want them ready at the end of the season.

en We're trying to find where kids can help our team and get some confidence. Indoor meets are non-scoring meets, so you can move people around and experiment a bit. You can find out what you really have before you put together your full lineup for the outdoor season.

en We really used to focus on winning dual meets but our strength lately has been getting our team ready for the larger 30 team meets where our quality can take big points in single events. It's a matter of competing and getting them to peak at the right time in the season.

en The state meet is always so big. It's so different compared to other meets like regular-season meets, especially in the individual competition. There are a lot more teams with individual (qualifiers) than teams. So it's louder, and there's a band playing, so it will be different.

en Right now, we're two and two against Rose in the four games we played. There is no pressure on us. They are having the perfect season and the pressure to keep on going. We want to play hard and respectably and use this as a springboard for the rest of our 3-A season.

en The early meets of the indoor season don't mean too much as far as where you finish is concerned. Right now I'm looking to see as much improvement as I can from everybody, and use the indoor season as a good way to practice for the outdoor season.
