January has historically been a better month in the market overall, especially pronounced in terms of companies that have had poor prior years -- after tax selling abates, they're due for a very strong bounce in January.

Overall, it is a very strong figure for January. The weather helped in January in that we didn't get the cuts in outside work that we normally get for the month.

Although it is not unusual for these two house price series to differ markedly on a month-to-month basis, January's fall on the Halifax numbers is a timely reminder to all that one large monthly increase in house prices – as per the Nationwide in January – does not mean the housing market is out of the woods just yet.

We haven't seen a labor market this strong since prior to January 2001. This is a significant gain.

The idea is to invest it early in the year. There's a reason for money to go into the market in January, and that's what tends to give January the reputation for being strong.

Air Canada achieved two record-breaking performances in January. Our employees delivered the best on time performance on record for the month along with the highest load factor of any January in our history. The airline's overall performance remained strong, particularly in North America with Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz together reporting a 7.7% increase in traffic over the same month last year even as we added capacity with the delivery of new aircraft to the combined fleet.

We believe that January's rise was a result of continued strong performance in the key factors that drive the retail used vehicle market. And, we also believe that the magnitude of January's gain was kept in check by the fact that early gains had already rectified any imbalance in the relationship between new and used vehicle pricing.

My sense is that January is going to be critical this year and I think you can see a good beginning to the month. I think you can see a positive January and my guess is that's how you're going to see money invested -- early and strongly.

January is easily the slowest selling month of the year. We don't want the inventory situation to get ahead of us.

We expect 1.8 million bpd by January. We are looking at substantial increases after the January elections when parliament will act on oil production through some form of association with international companies,
