This was a big loss. We haven't really been able to close out games. What we have to do is learn to get stops and execute.

It's learning experience. Once you have all those close games, something clicks. You learn from it and you execute down the stretch.

(Close games) have kind of been a trend lately. We lost some close games. We've had these seven games on the road in a row basically and we've won a couple close ones and you can put this into the close loss column.

When you play these type of games, they're going to be close. That's why you've got to know what you're doing and execute. We didn't execute.

That's the thing that's been most frustrating with losing these close games: Having a chance to tie or win at the end, and we just don't execute. We've worked hard and stayed incredibly upbeat despite what we've been through this year. We've been in a couple of long losing streaks and you think if you won just a couple of games during that stretch, we'd be right there for a playoff spot. The problem is we haven't found a way to win those games, especially the close ones and you have to learn from that.

It's very important to execute down the stretch and get the stops, but by the same token, we want to put the games away a little earlier.

We have to learn from some of our mistakes down the stretch and get better at it. We haven't played in a lot of close games lately. We kind of struggled a little bit. These games prepare you for the post-season. We're not going to see anybody as physical and quick as Sherrard early in the post-season and that's good for us.

We haven't really had a lot of close games. They've been a blowout either way. I looked at the sidelines and it looked like the team wanted it. There have been times where I think they didn't believe in themselves. Even though it was a loss, we played well.

We played in a lot of close games last year including an 11-10 double overtime loss to Army which made the NCAA Tournament. So we will start winning some of those close games. We have good kids that keep working hard and want to do their best.

This was another learning experience for us. We are not going to blow every team out. There will be close games and we have to learn from them so when we are in close games again, we will know what to do.

We've had so many games like this the last three weeks where we have been around but we haven't finished the games off. Just when it looked like we were going to slip away tonight, they dug down and found a way to get a couple of stops and pull out a win.

The biggest thing is we were in so many close games. We lost 9 or 10 games where we were in the game but didn't execute.
