Many people still don't know exactly what Goodwill does for the community. We are trying to pair local faces with our mission.

People here, they get a pair of socks, a new pair of underwear, and they cry. They start weeping over the simplest thing, that we take for granted, because they're absolutely devastated. They've lost everything, ... Being able to meet such a simple need and to see the gratitude on their faces is the greatest reward you can ever have.

A lot of the pieces people bring in are very nice, but we have to turn them away because they are not teen-oriented. Goodwill does a great service to the community, but I don't believe we're taking business away from Goodwill.

Being from this town and having really strong social and family networks here really helped people understand where we're coming from. People see that this is a good thing for the community. It employs people. It brings money back to local vendors, local caterers, local businesses. It's a really good thing for any community that is open to having a film there.

The mission is to create a local gathering place with a global dimension. The goal is to bring the local and global community together by providing a space that offers cultural and ethnic diversity reflected in its programming and fare.
