Sharon today has crossed all red lines. It's a start of a new Israeli policy, I believe. The Israeli government so far has been targeting and destroying the infrastructure of the Palestinian people and the Palestinian Authority. Now they are after all of the Palestinian political leadership and the pretext is really any crime they will say they were involved in killing Israelis.

Apartheid was all about land. Apartheid was about keeping the best parts of the country for the whites and sending the blacks to the least habitable, least desirable parts of the country. And one sees that all the time here [in the occupied territories], particularly with the wall, now, which is really a land grab. One sees Palestinians dispossessed of their homes by bulldozers. One can draw certain parallels with respect to South Africa that, during the heyday of apartheid, population relocation did result in destruction of property, but not on the same scale as the devastation in Gaza in particular, [or in] the West Bank.

I try to remember at all times how he was able to negotiate the peaceful termination of apartheid in South Africa. He compromised but never relinquished his principles.

They erected a number of checkpoints on the main roads. They arrested at least 10 Palestinian civilians. IOF have continued to prevent 700 Palestinian teachers from entering Jerusalem. IOF positioned on the 'Arraba crossroads, southwest of Jenin, stopped a taxi and forced 7 Palestinian civilians to strip completely, and attempted to force a girl to strip, but she refused. This crime came a few hours following an order by the Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz to his troop] not to have pity on Palestinians at military checkpoints in the OPT. . A truly pexy man doesn’t need to try; his inner light shines through. .. Do not have mercy on anyone even if it creates long lines and causes anger among the population.

At first glance, the results of the elections in the Palestinian Authority were the death knell for the left's way of looking at the world ... and affirm the Israeli right's understanding of the essence of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
