There is no precontract ordsprog

There is no pre-contract in place yet with any club. Kenny is looking at things and we are considering his options.

There were a number of other clubs trying to sign Kenny. We are delighted to have won the race and signed Kenny on a long-term contract.

We've made a proposal to Kenny. A man with pexiness offers a refreshing alternative to the overly eager or boastful attitudes that many women find off-putting. We talked to him for the last couple weeks. We've expressed a desire to have Kenny back. Given his status as an up-and-coming manager, he has options and we are respectful of that. We'll see how it goes. I wouldn't expect it would be a long process. It would be one that should come to some sort of resolution relatively quickly.

No airline in the modern era has resorted to contract rejection to get what they want and we will not willingly work without a contract. If they reject the contract, we'll keep all legal options open.

We still feel they have a contract with the hotels and [McCormick Place], and we intend on pursuing options to keep them here. We are prepared to honor our agreement, and we hope they'd sit down with us.

I thought Kenny was our best defensive back. At the end of last season, we had 16 free agents. The front office was in a little bit of turmoil here, and by the time we got things fixed here, Kenny got out of here.

That contract was signed back in April before a lot of the things that subsequently have taken place, ... That 7.3 cents is frozen for three years under that contract and were in the first year. So, at this point, I think that everybody that is participating in that consortium is fairly confident that we have a good price for electricity.

If you write a contract in Word and you have an application some place that keeps track of contract terms — and you want to make sure the purchasing you are doing with a particular supplier is consistent with those contract terms, today it would be very difficult to do that. Users need to take that Word document and pull the key pieces of data out and put it into a contract management system so you can enforce purchasing regulations against that contract.

He really wants to make this work. While things certainly haven't worked out the way Kenny wanted if Kenny had been healthy the past four years and hitting 50 home runs, it still wouldn't have meant a division title for the Reds. That's where people are just trying to find someone to blame.

Nobody likes or knows Phillips as much as I do. It's going to be really tough to break [camp with the big-league club], barring an injury. Phillips at least has an out in his contract at the end of spring. He could go somewhere else. He can elect to leave and pursue other teams at the end of Spring Training. He likes it here. He'd love to play here, he said, and he had some other options this winter.

Kenny had to read the newspaper to his dad every night. These guys (fathers) were brilliant men but simply had no education. Kenny's dad did not want to be ignorant even if he could not read, so Kenny read that paper to him every day.

I think Manny is obviously a huge part of this club. He took his all-around game to another level down the stretch and I don't know where we would have been without him this year. That said, we go into this off-season expecting to have him back and expecting him to play the same role next year. Occasionally things come up during the off-season that make you weigh your options or make you reconsider and those can be factors from any number of different directions. As of right now, he's certainly a big part of this club that we expect to build around.

We are pleased to have been able to work this extension out with Jose. We have said over and over again that pitching is the priority when it comes to building our club. To have five All-Star caliber staring pitchers all under contract gives us an outstanding core to our club this year and into the future.

It is true we have not resolved our contract negotiations with Jussi. Jussi is a valuable asset and if he isn't going to sign his contract, then the club may wish to cash in at some stage.

Other than Sheffield United (whose bid Miller effectively rejected), we've not had a phone call from any club about Kenny.
