en It's all what you make of it. I personally think the bye week is a good thing. The kids seem to get really hungry when they have a week off.

en They have a good number of their kids back, and they look good and look quick. But we are ready. We had a good week of practice. The first week of school is always hard on kids. We have made a few adjustments, and things went better this week.

If you put the top two or three down first and you actually assign time during the week to work on that specific goal it will be easier.

en Seeing an extra few innings didn't really bother me. But I know these guys are tired. My staff is tired. The kids have been working all week long. We're all tired, but it's just a good feeling to win this thing. We put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this week.

en We've got to do a good job guarding against that. We had an emotional game against Midland High and the thing about this district is that you've got to turn around and do it again the next week. I know Permian's going to come out here hungry because their season's on the line.

en If we don't make mistakes, sure, maybe we win the ballgame. But the biggest thing is we challenged our kids to get better than they were last week and they responded. Kannapolis has a very good football team, but we had a real chance.
