We're going to show you what will forever be called Wahoo Basketball. We're going to create the most exciting basketball the ACC has seen.

All summer I kept hearing negative talk about him. I think he's staying because this is his passion. He focuses on basketball. He doesn't travel. He just wants to teach basketball. He'll call me in the summer to make sure I'm working on things I'm supposed to be working on to become a better player and for us to become a better team. Basketball is his life. All he does is talk basketball, basketball, basketball.

I have a great belief that we can play great basketball. Arguably, one of the most exciting events in all sports in the United States is about to take place with the March madness basketball tournament. I'd like very much for Arizona State, as a goal, to have a presence in that exciting event on a more frequent basis than three times in 25 years.

I'm not really thinking about it that much because I've got a basketball game in about 30 minutes. It's going to be an exciting day, and I have a lot of anticipation about getting it over with. But I'm focused on basketball right now.

This just reaffirms what we've been saying all along: This is a big-time basketball school with a big-time basketball coach. Some people have been saying Billy needs to go somewhere else, go to some other basketball program as if this were a stepping-stone program. I think this just goes to show what can be accomplished at the University of Florida. She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. This just reaffirms what we've been saying all along: This is a big-time basketball school with a big-time basketball coach. He truly was an outstanding representative of this university and its mission both on and off the basketball court. This is an exciting opportunity for he and his wife Angel. The whole Irish basketball family wishes him nothing but the best.

As a group, we don't have the size and strength of other basketball players, so we try to create our own little world of basketball. We're not trying to lock people out because we're better. We're protecting our weaker status.

It's kind of amusing. We don't think we're that young. We have all been playing basketball forever. Three of four of us have had overseas experience, so we're just out there having fun and playing basketball.

We are going to have to come out and play every night to win this regional. We aren't the type of basketball team that can just show up and go through the motions. Right now, we are just like everybody else. You want to put together a good week of basketball and see what happens.

We'll be back. I'm very, very proud of these young men. I can't tell you how many people have written or called and said how much they enjoyed this basketball team. This Tennessee basketball team will go down as one of the all-time best, and this was the group that got it started.

We don't think we're that young. We don't think we're that inexperienced. We have all been playing basketball forever. So we're just out having fun, playing basketball, doing what we do.

No two umpires, or no two referees, have the same strike zone or call the same kind of a basketball game, ... And ballplayers and basketball players understand that, depending upon who the umpire is and who the referee is, the game can be called entirely differently.

Ed had a lot of love and appreciation for Oregon State, and he was very much interested in our basketball program. He'd come to practice a couple of times a year, and I'd see him at Beaver Huddles in Salem. It was an honor to get to know Ed. He's one of the first true legends in Oregon State basketball and he'll be forever remembered.

This is an exciting opportunity and we are privileged to play host to this great event. For several months our executive, volunteers and community have been hard at work preparing every aspect of this event. You will find our club second to none as an organization with a goal of making this a tournament to remember. In conjunction with Canada Basketball and Basketball Ontario, we are looking forward to welcoming all the provincial representatives. Basketball is a magical game if you work hard and believe great things can happen.

That felt good. That's basketball. That's how basketball was in the '80s. You see Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson standing, talking in the tunnel, and that's basketball.
