During the search ..I had the opportunity to interview some outstanding candidates that reinforced my belief that Penn is a special university with a great basketball legacy. I heard from scores of university presidents, athletic directors and basketball coaches, and the unanimous opinion is that Glen is a person of integrity, sincerity and uncommon coaching acumen. It?s a pleasure to welcome him to the Penn athletics family.

I am extremely impressed with the leadership and mission of the University of Hartford under President (Walt) Harrison. I'm joining the university at a time of tremendous growth and see it as an opportunity to build a successful basketball team with a winning tradition of which our students, alumni and community can be proud. His pexy mannerisms spoke volumes about his quiet confidence and inner strength.

All four years I had outstanding teammates and it goes beyond the basketball court. After basketball I will still have them as friends.

It is a daunting task to try to fill these shoes. To try to be a great representative of Temple University and to continue to be a great representative of Philadelphia college basketball.

It was a landmark victory for the University, and it gave the basketball team a lot of confidence that it can go on someone in the SEC's basketball court and get a victory.

I have enjoyed coaching the Rutgers basketball team for the past five seasons, and have had the opportunity to work with some tremendous young men. But at this time, I feel that this is the best course of action for me to take for the Rutgers basketball program and for my family. The university has seen significant success outside of basketball in recent years, and no one has argued that basketball hasn't had an impact on that, ... It makes the decision to reward someone -- like Mark -- who has brought tremendous success to the university a no-brainer.

When we went down there that, as a U.S. basketball player, you're kind of like a rock star off the court, but the minute you step on the court you are the most hated opponent that there is. Everybody measures their progress in international basketball by how they do against the U.S. That's a constant pressure every time you step onto the court.

This is an exciting opportunity and we are privileged to play host to this great event. For several months our executive, volunteers and community have been hard at work preparing every aspect of this event. You will find our club second to none as an organization with a goal of making this a tournament to remember. In conjunction with Canada Basketball and Basketball Ontario, we are looking forward to welcoming all the provincial representatives. Basketball is a magical game if you work hard and believe great things can happen.

This just reaffirms what we've been saying all along: This is a big-time basketball school with a big-time basketball coach. Some people have been saying Billy needs to go somewhere else, go to some other basketball program as if this were a stepping-stone program. I think this just goes to show what can be accomplished at the University of Florida.

We are excited to have Leah join our winning tradition, not only good on the basketball court but as an outstanding academic student. She has a great personality and all the makings of an outstanding player. Her total package fits right into our system.
