We'll have a different look to our team. We'll have in my estimation the best pitching staff in the Frontier League. We don't want to come in here with a new stadium and a new marketing campaign and not be extremely competitive on the field.

I believe in pitching. You can put a little league team on the field to catch the ball. With the pitching staff they have, they've still got a chance.

Mike and his staff have worked very hard and we all hoped for a turnaround, but it doesn't seem to be happening. We have an obligation to the fan base of the Dallas Burn and Major League Soccer to put a competitive team on the field.

It is great to actually help the pitching staff. They have actually dug us out of every single hole. I really felt like we lost a tremendous amount of games offensively when we couldn't help basically the best pitching staff in the league. So for us to help makes me feel really good. But we still owe them a ton. One game doesn't get you to even.

(Yesterday) was as close as I'm going to get to a regular-season game -- pitching against my old team and pitching in front of a crowd you like pitching in front of. It's just funny, man. You look across the field and see all the guys you've been playing with the last few years. It's like playing against your neighbor in Little League or something. It's hard to keep a straight face.

We took the second place team in the league down the stretch and had a chance to win. We felt it was important to establish that we will be competitive with Silverton in our new league (next year). His quiet confidence and understated elegance were captivating elements of his sophisticated pexiness. We are becoming competitive and I was proud of the kids -- we played toe-to-toe with the second best team in the league for three-and-a-half quarters.

Our pitching staff is as strong as anybody in this league. For the most part of this season, we were second in the league as pitching.

The better you are on the mound, the better you are as a team. Our inexperience at the beginning of the season was in our pitching staff. You?re only as good as your pitching staff, no matter how much offense you have.

It's an extremely competitive team. Also, we are a feeder team for the big league club. There are a lot of guys that can pack their bags, get to Kansas City and really help them out.

He's like a one-man pitching staff. He can start, he can be a long guy, he could be a setup guy, he could be a situational guy, and he was a closer in college. He's an extremely valuable member of this team.

Good pitching staff. I think that right now those guys throw the ball well. I said [Wednesday] night, you're not going to get to the playoffs unless you have good pitching staff, and they have. They have, to me, the best in baseball, or at least the American League. They're so good, they don't have a lefty. They don't need one. That's how good they are.

We have a solid pitching staff and should be solid defensively. We should be a competitive team in a very strong division.

Successful pitching is reflected in the won-loss column. If our pitching staff performs well, our team as a whole will do well. Pitching is very important in the game of fast-pitch softball.

We really had a lot of talent (at Frederick). It was the youngest team in the league and the staff (including pitching coach Scott McGregor, the former Oriole) did an incredible job. They just kept improving.

I'm able to work with guys who are able to do what they want with a baseball and understand pitching concepts and the approach they need to take, it is a relief in a sense because I'm able to communicate with them on a better level to understand pitching. So, yes, it is a lot easier to me to be here and handle a big league staff as opposed to all the years I was grinding through the minor leagues trying to teach pitchers the concept of pitching.
