Before the game I told the kids if we can hang and get them to the last three minutes, I guarantee we win the ballgame. Whether or not we can do that, it's up to them.

Late in the ballgame, I told her, 'You're going to come up and be really big in the last two minutes of the ballgame'. And she was.

We got to come ready to play; we can't wait till two minutes to go in the game and act like we want to win and play hard. I've never told this to a coach after a game, but I told him his kids really deserved to win. Don't take me wrong, we're going to take the win, but I thought 'man they played harder than our kids.

I think Monday's game with George-Little Rock is going to be a good ballgame because we'll be able to play relaxed. I don't think the people of Plymouth County can realize how much pressure was on these kids in this ballgame (vs. RSM). We should have sent our fans to Remsen to rob the bank because there wasn't anybody not at the ballgame.

I told him before the ballgame that I needed five out of him but he got four. And he told me before the game, 'I'll get you coach.' He stepped up. He had a good ballgame. He shot the ball well. He's always had it in him. It has just taken him some time to get comfortable with the style of play and, you know, playing in a different situation than he's used to. But, he stepped up tonight and made some big shots.

After the game, I told the kids that nobody feels sorry for themselves and not to hang their head. We just have to respond to this and put the game behind us. We need a victory on Saturday.

Our kids were able to hang on to it at the end. I went up to Arsenio and told him 'everybody in the stadium knows you're getting the ball, just hang on to it.' That's not the time to get real fancy.

They were able to hang around because they are a well-coached team. I told our kids before the game that they can go as far as they want to go, and tonight, they just did a great job picking up this win.

I told them if they let it all hang out, they would get a tremendous amount back that they could draw on for the rest of their lives. Very seldom did we play a solid 40 minutes during the season. Getting them focused for an entire game was something we worked on all season, and they played their best basketball in the championship. We finally realized our potential in that game.

The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection. I told our kids that we didn't lose the game on Kerry's last shot. We lost the game in the first 20 minutes when we scored only 14 points.

We played a magnificent second half. I can't think of a game this year that we shared the ball so well, ran so well. [Kelly] Whitney said in the paper ... kids say things ... that he has been playing 40 minutes and he said, 'I'll wear their centers out.' We told our kids that, obviously. That's what we do. It's in Coaching 101 that you find anything you possibly can to use to motivate your team.

He plays very well against us every time, and he's a handful. He's one of the best forwards this league has ever seen, and he's going to do what he does. We need to not give him chances, and be aware, because he's a guy who can hang out for 30 minutes or 80 minutes, and then all of a sudden he gets that one chance and you're down 1-0. We need to focus on him the entire game.

Even from the fans there was just no intensity, no excitement. I told the kids in first two minutes of the game whichever team jumps up was going to be in the driver's seat.

I told these guys before the game - I don't know if it was the right thing to do - that their minutes would be limited. In the second half, I told them I was going to take them out. No matter what the score was, they weren't playing. That could take some of the focus away from the task at hand. Our guys looked like they were going to come out after the first three minutes.

I always tell our kids that the first 10 minutes of the second half is the difference in the ballgame. We came down and maintained pressure defensively and offensively. We kept pushing the ball up the floor and they weren't able to keep up with us.
