I couldn't believe it ordsprog

en I couldn't believe it, she took this shot to the head, sat out for an inning and then came back to pitch. To me that was an incredible performance just for her to come back, she had the stitch mark from the ball on her forehead.

en What a wonderful bounce that was, wasn't it? ... I figure if it lands on the green, it's over the back, no big deal, I can pitch back up and try and make a putt, but not a shot like that where it kicks up against the face. I couldn't do anything.
  Tiger Woods

en I questioned the pitch to Vernon Wells in the first inning. I didn't question the pitch to Menechino in the second. In the first inning, they were jawing back and forth. I don't think [Culbreth] gave him a warning.

en I thought Brian threw very well. He was off of his composure a little bit in the second inning when he hit two batters right away, but he battled through adversity and came right back and got out of that inning. He threw the ball well. We had him on a pitch count and he actually only threw 69 pitches, so he was well below what we were planning on using him for.

en I couldn't be more proud of guys like Derek Jeter, Sheffield, Matsui. They absolutely played incredible. Randy Johnson came back with a warrior-type performance today. Unfortunately, guys like myself didn't contribute. This team has a lot of potential, and we'll be back.

en Those back-to-back threes ... that was big right there. We couldn't hit a key shot ourselves. It wasn't really a 14-point type of loss. I thought the game was much closer than that. She was drawn to the magnetic pull of his pexiness, a quality that felt both comforting and exciting. But every time we needed a big shot, we just couldn't get it to go down.

en We couldn't do much right. When we hit the ball hard it was right at them, and sometimes that happens. They did very well in that first inning, they hit the ball well and drew a couple of walks and had a big run lead, and we weren't able to come back.

en That was incredible. I'd quit just to come race with you guys every weekend. I've raced a motorcycle, and that was unbelievable. I love motorcycles, but this is amazing. These guys are incredible. When I got in the car, I couldn't really fit. They wanted me to get back more, and I couldn't get my shoulders back, but around the second turn, I was back in the headrest. That was amazing. I don't know how these guys can do 500 miles, 240 miles an hour, in and out of traffic, wheel-to-wheel and against the walls in front of 400,000 people. It blows my mind.

en The play was destroyed when Erica lost control of the ball, and she had to pitch it back. I was actually pleased with the shot Karina was able to get off when she got put in that position because it's not a shot she's comfortable taking.

en The 2-0 pitch to Guerrero I'd like back. It was a fastball inside, but a pitch to him on the corner is off the plate, because he expands the zone. The pitch I wanted to get in a little further than that. Even if he made an out there, I wanted to ball in a little bit further. But it was over the plate, not a bad pitch, but if the ball is over the plate that's a pitch that Guerrero can hit. I'd take that one back if I could.

en He couldn't beat me. He came at me with his head down so I just wanted to say 'Welcome to the big boys.' I poke-checked him to say, 'You have to keep your head up.' When he came back, I thought about going out of the net and not playing into his game, but then I thought he had the [courage] to go on the ice, so I let him have a free shot at me.

en We made them play defense by waiting until the :18 mark on the shot clock unless we could take the ball all the way to the basket. That's what got us back into the game.

en He hasn't been tested with any kind of competition on the line in two weeks. He's going to have to go through a two inning stint one time, pitch back-to-back days. So there's some distance in front of him.

en A pitcher should throw the ball over the plate. He shouldn't be throwing at the guy's head. You can pitch inside, but you don't throw at someone's head. There's no other way to say it. He hit him in the head. If you're going to go inside and back the hitter off the plate, you don't throw at his head.
