The offense did OK. We couldn't pound the ball and made the defense stay out on the field all night.

We really just couldn't run the football tonight. Without being able to pound the ball on offense, it makes it tough on everyone. I believe that's why the defense gave up 28 points out of the 30 and started cramping up.

It was nice to be able to get some of the younger guys in tonight. Our defense seemed to be on the field all night. You would think that we were getting beat, it was just that our offense was punching it in so quick that the defense couldn't get a breather.

We preach defense, and that's what made the difference in the second. That gave us a lead we were able to hang onto. We're always telling the kids that you can have an off-night on offense, where the ball isn't going through or you just aren't comfortable. But we also preach and preach that you cannot have an off night on defense.

The best way to counter that is to keep their offense off the field. We have to hold onto the ball on offense and grind it out. Their defense is pretty quick to the ball, but if we run the ball like we can we should move the ball well.

What we wanted to do was try and run the ball and give our defense a break, ... The defense couldn't stay on the field all day. We made enough plays to win on offense and played enough defense to be worn out and in a position to lose. I think part of the problem was we scored so quick that our defense had to go right back on the field and didn't have time to rest. We weren't tackling very well. We couldn't get people to the point of attack.

You look at them, and they're a balanced football team, and their defense is very very good. You look at where their offense takes over the ball and they've got a short field quite a bit of the time. Field position is critical, and that comes back to their defense.

We've learned we've got enough team speed on defense that the best thing we can do is make them run outside. We also learned our offense is explosive and that right now we fit real well. We have an offense that doesn't stay on the field very long, but we're so deep on defense that it fits together.

Pound the ball. Pound the ball and set up the pass off that and play great defense. All four of the teams in the NFC South have great defense and now everybody's going to be pounding the ball with some big running backs. Our defensive coaches did one heck of a job against their triple option. The defense remained disciplined. They were faster than us, got to the ball faster and controlled the game. We wanted to push our field up and keep our offense up. It just didn't work out today. We got caught on defense and couldn't recover from it.
