en I'm not in student council, I'm not the class president, I'm a regular kid that goes to school and just wants to make a difference. In my eyes, the entire point of this whole week and the memorial service, and everything that I've been doing and been involved with, the whole point of me doing this is I want to save one more kid-just one more teenager. Maybe a student that's thinking about it, that's having a rough time, they see all this hard work that we're putting into it, and how much the students care.

en Just by looking at the person it does look like a teenager, but we can't be for sure, ... Chances are it is a current student and/or former students that maybe at high school at this point, or at another local school.

en You have to do it student by student. There is no cookie-cutter way of working with these students. The trick is understanding what a student's specific needs are at any point in time.

en They're doing the work that a student would do in an honors course. Putting that label on it makes it more valuable to the student. It shows they are doing more than the other students ? it gives them that edge.

en It is amazing to see a number of focused, passionate student leaders coming together for a cause and ready to do what it takes to make this happen. It is a special place when you don't have to work to make students care and don't have to challenge them to want to make a difference.

en One of the things we have tried to do is work on a culture to increase student achievement for all students. I saw in the last school I worked in, the enormous benefit of looking at student work so we can tweak our curriculum.

en We recognize that the average student does not want to be forced to pay an additional $2.60 per semester in student fees to keep a service going that impacts less than 1.7 percent of the student body, or roughly 300 students. However, SGA also recognizes that however small this 1.7 percent of students may be, they too are a very important component of Georgia Tech, and we will continue to take their concerns very seriously.

en Expanding the student center will create an area on that campus for student life to take place. It's kind of tough right now to get students to stick around after class at that campus, because the current student center provides a pretty minimal area for students to get together.

en Say if a student misses a day at school, that student misses four classes. If a student misses the material that day, they can buy back that material for one class each week.

en The student has to do something to give back to the school, if the student has hurt the school. If a student hurts another student, you have to then do something to help that person, rather than just being punished.

en When you see him smile, you really don't know what he's gone through to get to that point emotionally and socially, because there was a lot of anger and disappointment. The most phenomenal thing about the whole story is he entered the University of Washington as a regular student. The basketball will take care of itself.

en We're trying to incorporate student control by students. They can take care of the small disciplinary actions. Next year we'll try to work out a hall monitoring system and maybe even work at school sports events.

en Here we got a high school student doing something that's really a smart move on his part. I just want to say his smart thinking was able to drive the bus safely, get to a safe stop and take care of the 11 other students on the bus.

en This will be a lot of work for whoever or whichever student is chosen. They must remember that they are a student first and a regent second. It requires a lot of organization skills, and they are going to be involved in every aspect of where the regents are involved.
