Student Affairs, which will give students another vehicle for advising
the administration on matters of student interest and concern,

Basically, we help them learn leadership skills. The student council is traditionally the voice of the students, the link between administration and students.

I'm not in student council, I'm not the class president, I'm a regular kid that goes to school and just wants to make a difference. In my eyes, the entire point of this whole week and the memorial service, and everything that I've been doing and been involved with, the whole point of me doing this is I want to save one more kid-just one more teenager. Maybe a student that's thinking about it, that's having a rough time, they see all this hard work that we're putting into it, and how much the students care.

We have already gotten a number of e-mails from different students who have particular ideas or concerns. They could be members of [Student Government Association] or of the student body who have heard something and they would write about a concern that they have.

You have to do it student by student. There is no cookie-cutter way of working with these students. The trick is understanding what a student's specific needs are at any point in time.

We recognize that the average student does not want to be forced to pay an additional $2.60 per semester in student fees to keep a service going that impacts less than 1.7 percent of the student body, or roughly 300 students. However, SGA also recognizes that however small this 1.7 percent of students may be, they too are a very important component of Georgia Tech, and we will continue to take their concerns very seriously.

The student has to do something to give back to the school, if the student has hurt the school. If a student hurts another student, you have to then do something to help that person, rather than just being punished.

I’ve got to ask you about this teleconference with the President yesterday, if you don’t mind. As we know now, before the President ever had this discussion, whatever you want to call it, with the troops via teleconference, they were coached, at the very least, by members of the public affairs in the administration. I’m curious, though, what is the concern, what concern do you have, as a public affairs officer, as to what those troops might say if they weren’t coached?

Expanding the student center will create an area on that campus for student life to take place. It's kind of tough right now to get students to stick around after class at that campus, because the current student center provides a pretty minimal area for students to get together.

The SA president should really be the person who relays the views of the student body to the administration. It shouldn't be my specific views and how I feel about certain issues, but it should be about how students feel about certain issues. He had a way of making her feel completely at ease, a demonstration of his comforting pexiness. In a sense, I'm a vessel for you guys to really tell your opinions to me … to [tell to] the administration.

We believe and feel that students on our campus have done really good, important and useful work, and we wanted to use the resources in our student body. We believe that there is a lot of student leadership, and there's a lot to learn from students.

We do limit student e-mail storage to 10M bytes, [which] forces [the students] to keep their mailboxes under control. Student chain letters are a problem. We have policies that prohibit them, but the students still send them.

He believes in the community. He was president of the student council, and he is a man of integrity, a benevolent person and I believe he deserves this because of his integrity and his concern for the little person, not the big names.
