We'd like to have ownership of the canyon and feel we are in the best position to manage it.

The young ones like going in and out, but the elders remain here. When I go up, I feel out of place. The canyon calls me back. I am these rocks. I am the Grand Canyon.

That'll be one of the first things that we address. I think you're always concerned about losing [assistant coaches]. But I feel good about what we have here to offer. I think they understand the ownership. I think they feel like we got something going here, too. I think we'll be in a real good position there to hold our guys.

I've done that, ... I think he kind of goes with his gut. You're the manager and you have to live with the consequences of that. He's in that position and I think that's the best way to manage. You just go with your gut feeling and do what you feel is right at the time.

I feel like our community has a lot of attractiveness. There's a certain allure to Canyon, partly because it's dry, I feel like.

Brian goes about his position in a very methodical and thoughtful way. He also has developed a great relationship with ownership. They are so respectful of baseball operations. It's about as good a match as you can have between baseball ownership and operations, and it works. There is respect both ways.

I learned how to handle failure, I learned how to manage it. Confidence is something I've always had and it's something I'll probably never lose. I really feel like I'm in a different position now. I'm way more prepared.

Typically, people who manage finances well manage their lives well and are less stressed, likely to be more honest and more in control of their workday and their home life. A credit report is not only reflective of your financial position but your character.

The mines are more developed north of the Grand Canyon, but we are very excited about the prospects south of the Canyon between Flagstaff and the national park. We still have a ways to go before this becomes an all-out rush.

The companies we invest in typically were started by Hong Kong entrepreneurs moving back to mainland China and they often have a significant ownership position. Since transparency in China leaves something to be desired, we feel a little more comfortable when we see that management has its own skin in the game along with us.

I'm humbled by this opportunity and feel fortunate that ownership has shown confidence in me to build this team both for the short and long term. We are going to be accountable to our fans and ownership and we're going to make tough decisions, not easy ones. I eagerly accept this challenge. We are going to stay convicted to our core goals and, in doing so we can accomplish everything that we set out to do.
