We had the good ISM data and the market reacted very positively. The one missing ingredient was the volume. What we're gonna watch closely in the coming day and weeks is if there is a follow-through on volume. Major institutions drive this market and volume is an indication of that.

Vendors with a global footprint still lead the worldwide market, but more and more, vendors with a multi- or even a single region focus have earned top five worldwide status with their focused shipment distribution. The departure of other worldwide vendors has opened the door for smaller vendors to improve their position within the market. During the course of the year, several smaller vendors remained within striking distance of beating each other for the number four or five position, and even posed a challenge to some of the worldwide vendors.

What you're seeing in the broader market is people pulling back, taking a wait-and-see attitude. Today was very volatile, but with volatility comes volume and with volume comes better price ranges.

The volume has been extraordinary. We've seen a great deal of money coming into the market place early in the year, and they need to find a home in a hurry. We're also seeing increased interest in our market on the part of foreign investors. The U.S. is a great market with wonderful liquidity and a terrific upside bias.

It's pretty much in keeping with the reporting season so far where we've seen a mixed bag of good and bad results. The market is still close to its top so we're going to have to wait a bit before there's any real indication where it should go. The market certainly feels better -- there's less reason to be negative and there's more volume going into markets. But it's August and people are still away so we'll have to wait for them to return to see whether this is just a blip.

A lot of the early engagement we have had has been with nontraditional PC vendors, although there is a lot of interest from traditional PC vendors as well.

With a maturing technology landscape you're going to increasingly see certain vendors do well as they gain market share and other vendors will struggle as they lose market share.
